• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I heard a good description of good works vs. grace through faith. Let's say a jail full of people get pardoned. Now, all they have to do is walk out of the jail cell, and leave. Now, instead, some people are waiting for the right feeling, but will not leave till they get it. Some others will not leave until the Governor comes to the cell and tells them they can leave. Some say, "I don't believe in a governor, I've never seen one"! Another cleans up his cell everyday, and trys as hard as he can to earn his way out of the cell. What is so crazy about all of this? Someone has already paid the price to let them all out, but they refuse to believe it. This is my description of those that choose to refuse the gift that Jesus paid for you. It's all paid for in full. You just need to step out of that cell.

You can use it however you want. I got it off of Way Of The Master radio show. They have stuff on there like this all the time. I thought this was a good one, I hope it will help bring others to understandance of how we view them, and they view us. I hope you guys can find a good use for the analogy. :)

Great analogy.

But what if you "mess up" again? Do you land back in jail? Do you have to repent/atone for "messing up" again so you can get "pardoned" again?

Did they repent for messing up the first time?
