Brinkley and Cook are now separated, after 10 years of marriage.
And the question everyone's asking is, "Why would anyone cheat on Christie Brinkley?" And that begs the more general question of what prompts men to cheat, period.
Stephen Perrine, editor in chief of BestLife magazine, and Nicole Beland, deputy editor of Women's Health magazine, discussed it all on The Early Show Thursday with co-anchor Hannah Storm.
"Why," Storm wanted to know, "would a man cheat on someone gorgeous like Christie Brinkley? It's happened to … (other) beautiful, successful women (as well)."

There is a lot more to a relationship than your partner being beautiful. That's not to condone or excuse cheating, but the author suggests that you should be all set because your spouse is beautiful.

I think everyone here would agree that looks aren't everything. There are probably things about Christie which are undesirable, such as a bad attitude, pride, etc. After all, she is a big star supermodel, so she probably things extremely high of herself, and probably thinks she's entitled to more than she really is. Thus, she got cheated on.

I'm not excusing cheating btw, just offering an explanation.

It's something that has to do with Evolution so people who belive in Creation in 6 days can stop reading right now.

In most of the species, and certainly true for most mammals, males and females have two different goals in life. A female's goal is to become pregnant by the best male. A male's goal is to get as many females pregnant. If you realize this, you can better understand the differences in how men and women act. That's why us men to only look for a fraction of a second at a woman to get our blood flowing. And that's why women *usualy* need more convincing.

People - both men and women - do goofy things mostly because they are unhappy with existence. In most cases nobody will remember or care about what we have done on this world when we are dead - except maybe our children and spouse. So the cheating kind have a really pointless existence built on sand.

Men are naturally subject to sexual temptation as it is; when the entire society is hammering home the point that you can't be happy if you're not getting any, they'll look for it as often as they can. If the woman at home isn't satisfying them to society's standards, society tells them to get satisfaction elsewhere.

When sex becomes a commodity, monogamy is viewed as out-of-date and stupid.

Men are naturally subject to sexual temptation as it is; when the entire society is hammering home the point that you can't be happy if you're not getting any, they'll look for it as often as they can. If the woman at home isn't satisfying them to society's standards, society tells them to get satisfaction elsewhere..

Sorry, but that's just nonsense. Cheating has happened all throughout history, because of the biological imperatives of both males and femals. It has nothing to do with our society revolving around sex, all the time (which it doesn't, anyway).

That's nonsense too. Sex has always been a commodity; again, that's simply because of the biological nature of men and women. And, of course, monogamy might be viewed as out-of-date and stupid by some; that is not to say that it is by all or even by the majority. Nor is the fact that some view it that way evidence that their viewing it that way has anything to do with sex being a commodity.

Contrary to popular opinion, there are men that do not cheat nor have the desire to do so...

I especially find irony in the fact that some Christians believe it is in our "make up" to look for sex outside of marriage. If God intends sexual relations to be between one married couple, you wouldn't be made any different seeking otherwise.
