Hello!

I've been creating Youtube videos on philosophy, and I'm starting with arguments for the existence of God. I hope you find them useful:

youtube dot com slash user slash Sinkh

(My "religion" should be agnostic. Don't know how to change it.)
When you have finished God perhaps you could prove the existance of Thor or the FSM?

The best you're gonna be able to do is arrive at the reasonable conclusion that there is a deity serving as first cause, which is what Aquinas did.
Reasonable? do you honestly think that's the right word to use? and why a deity and not an Alien or a pink cloud that drifts around the galaxies seeding planets with life?
once we start considering answers that are not really answers we start going downhill, we can stop looking for real answers and just sit around and tell ourselves that God did it all and leave it at that and learn nothing.

You may want to believe a God did it all [and even the Christian God of your choice] but when it comes to an answer to where it all began it ranks up there with the fairies, tweedle dumb and tweedle dee, in other words a non-answer.
You might just as will say 12.

The OP never claimed to be 'proving' God. He stated he is posting "arguments for".
It was 'arguments for the existence of God', all I did was ask him to put up 'arguments for the existence of a few other mythical beings' when he had finished with God.
Why the hostility and sarcasm?
Sarcasm perhaps but hostility? say or have doubts about the existence of a God and people want you to be gagged in case you cause them to doubt their beliefs.

It would seem it's only the right words keeping religions alive so the wrong words must be able to destroy them.

What you did was ask him to "prove" the existence of a few others when he finished with God. I strongly suspect he will go on to refute the points in those videos to make arguments against God next considering that he's identified himself as an Atheist.

Absolutely hostile. You were immediately resistant to the point he was/is trying to make (without even reviewing the videos I suspect), there was nothing friendly in your reply and the only apparent motivation for responding to a first comment from a brand new poster in such a way was to antagonize them. IE Hostile.

Side note: I would love to see you cause the OP to doubt his beliefs.

No, I am not going to refute anything. I honestly don't find a whole lot of refutation of these arguments because atheists have so badly screwed them up.

They are here for Christians or atheists to use as they see fit. I try to stay pretty neutral about it.

I need to change my "faith" to agnostic, anyway.

So your position is to accept there are no answers and quit looking?

No, that's your position by giving a God as the reason why it's all here, why not be like most people and say that you just don't know.

So instead of listening to the case for a reasonable conclusion for a first cause on good evidence, it's better to just say misrepresent the other side and say "YOU'RE WRONG, AND THERE'S NO WAY WHAT YOU SAY IS RIGHT, RELIGION IS EVIL AND ITS FOLLOWERS ARE BLIND!"?

Quit trolling.

I have been saying that. You are the one that knows God is not there and there are no answers.
I have never once said 'there is no God', I don't know if there is or not and to be honest I don't care either way,
it's people with religion who keep telling everyone that 'there is a God', all everyone ever asks religious people is, 'where is this God you speak of?', instead of saying they don't know they say such things as 'he's not of this world' or 'I know there is a God because I can feel him' or 'there is evidence for a God' or 'It's logical that there would be a God'.

In short it's up to the people who keep saying 'there is a God' to at least come up with something, if they don't we can only assume they have been indoctrinated to believe that 'there is a God'.

I have no reason to think or believe that there's a God so why have you?

No it is not up to people who believe there is a God to prove His existence, unless we claim to be able to prove it. I never claimed any such thing. I have reason to believe in God, but all evidence of this kind is subjective. The reason you have no reason to think there is a God is you refuse to be open to the possibility. God has worked in your life, but you refuse to see it as God working in your life. That is your choice but you have no business telling me I have no reason to believe. You don't know that, just as you don't know if God is or is not. You should care if there is a God, because if there is none, you live an ultimatly meaningless life with a destiny of oblivion. If there is no God, we will all eventually be extinct and it will not matter we ever existed, because there will be no one around for it to matter to.

There is plenty of evidence. You just chose to interpret it by your world view. You choose how to look at everything.

Look at the fossil record, the diversity of species, the universe, the molecule, the forest, the grand canyon, the moon, the bible. All the very same evidence you believe proves there is no God, I look at from my perspective and say that it points to proof there is God.

There's more to be gained from discourse in an attempt to empathize with another world view, than there is to try and change it.
