KTF, I am so sorry to hear about your friend's brother. What a tragedy.
And you are right - we are VERY grateful they are alive. They both could have been taken from us in a matter of seconds, but God chose to spare their lives. I told Sheryl last night while Ray had gone into his shop for a few hours that I knew that they were both hurt and sore, but I was thanking God for every bump, bruise, cut, scrape and staple and every other injury that they have, because it meant that they were alive. Of course, motorcycle days are over for them!!!
Ray is doing remarkably well. He still can't lift his arm very well, but he is seeing improvement in that daily. Yesterday was a pretty bad day on Sheryl. She has been doing really well and wanted to go to a local restaraunt for breakfast yesterday morning. She was moving much better and acted like she felt better than she has since the accident, so we took her. Unfortunately, she was just too weak for it. She got very dizzy and sweaty in the restaraunt and had to lie down in the booth. We got some cold compresses for her and she came around, but was still very dizzy. We took her home immediately, but she had to keep her eyes closed the whole way because even the slightest movement would make her dizzy. We called the doctor who said that after a head injury like hers, all of this was normal and was to be expected, but for her to make an appointment with her regular doctor to get something for the vertigo because her equilibrium has been affected so much. She was hoping to go back to work today (which we have been trying to talk her out of since she first mentioned it), but she realized yesterday for herself that she just isnt' up to it yet. We called and she spoke with her boss who told her that he did not want her back in the office at all this week, just to stay at home and rest and they would discuss next week as time got closer. She was doing much better last night, but was back to just lying in the bed, or sitting in the recliner. The more she moves around, the dizzier she gets. Continue praying, folks! She's definitely improving, but not fast enough in her mind.
Thanks everyone!!!
