  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Most realistic FPS?

I think most modern FPSs are realistic...but none of them are 100% accurate. The closest one, I think, is Amrica's Army. Haven't played it much, but the mechanics and overall atmosphere are close to what I imagine would be a "real combat simulator". Not a fan of all these CoDs and Battlefields...

I cannot say this loud enough: Crysis

It was actually rewarded for being the most graphically intense game, and was the reason I built this current PC. There is no other FPS, or any game period, that comes up to par with Crysis.

Warning: It's an FPS, so it is graphic. Not sure if I'm not supposed to post it here? Sorry, if so.

Crysis max settings 1920x1080 8xAA - YouTube

It really depends... Halo Reach is a sci fi shooter with a good physics engine. Anyhow... realistic shooters, there are two MW3 and BF3. MW3 is individual skilled based so you can go rambo(if you can) and be good at the game. BF3 physics engine is really good. It's also team based and you HAVE to act more like the military in order to win. It really depends on what you like.

Depends on what you mean by realistic. Crysis is realistic in terms of graphics and physics. Battlefield 3 is realistic in terms of openness and fighting. Americas Army is real in terms of how a gun battle would work (wounds, bleeding out, sloe movement when shot in leg...etc). Theres an older game named Soldier Of Fortune, in it its hit system was realistic and what happened when you got hit. If you sliced at someones stomach, their guts would hang out. If you shot them in the hand, their hand blew off. If you shot then in the upper right of the head there would be a wound but the back of their head would be blow out. So thats also realistic.

Now if you combine all three you would get a realistic game. However it still would not be real life though. Games have a long way to go to convey pure realism to the point of if you were shown a video you couldn't tell it was a game.
