CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm not sure if this is the most important verse, but it definitely is in my top ten:
Romans 5:8 "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Here is another important passage:
1 Corinthians 15:3-6 "that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren...."
And another:
Acts 16:31 "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved...."

I know it's cliche, but John 3:16 is pretty much the Gospel in a nutshell, or as much of one as you can put the Gospel into.

Relatively, that is, relative to the great cancer that is eating away at Christianity today, the most important verse is John 3:5. A man must be born of water and the Spirit, although most 'pastors' today like to throw the water out, and in doing so have become like the Pharisees and lawyers of Christ's time who would not enter in themselves nor allow others to do so.
