  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What is the most beautiful thing you ever saw, the thing that made you want to burst with praise for God?

I once saw a sunset that was like looking into heaven. The sky blended with the lake so perfectly and with such a detailed image that you could see towns and houses and mountains and beaches and a lighthouse. It looked like you could jump over the cliff and walk across the water straight into heaven! It took my heart and breath away. It all happened on the same day that I first acknowledged the Holy Spirit, and I've always thought of this sunset as being a gift from the Spirit and an acknowledgement of God's favor toward me.

What about you? What have you seen or witnessed that made you glorify God?

I think the day my one granddaughter was born.
Our hospitals in South Africa are very ‘down’ and if you cannot afford to pay for a private hospital it is like a nightmare.

Four years ago my daughter Hanle gave birth to her firs child on my birthday. Things went wrong and there was not enough staff to help so the sister asked me to help her. I was there and saw everything but something when wrong and the little baby face turned blue and the sister battle to get my daughter cut. I stood there ‘frozen’ with fear and this sister shouts to someone to get a doctor.

She grabs the head of the baby and pulled and somehow the shoulders got stuck. Another sister arrived and then the Tayhlin were born. At that moment I start to laugh and cried on the same time. I just could not keep it in. Today Tayhlin is a beautiful tiny girl and I love her to pieces.

Lambslove...for me it's sunsets too. Or the sky before a sunset. I go for a walk now at my job and afterwards I walk towards the river and look at the sky for a while. It's not quite sunset...but there are clouds that cover the sun and start to make that pink/orange/red/blue color...it's so perfect. It is just so beautiful...

I love sunsets. :)

My youth was wasted on wine, women, song, and war. I never amounted to anything and it did not appear I ever would. But one day the woman who could not have children presented me, the man who could not father a child, with a 9 lb. 13 3/4 oz. baby boy. When they placed him in my arms it was the most incredible moment of my life. My life meant something. He grew to be a musical genuis and several masters have told me that one day children all over the world will be studying from the books he is now writing. He is 6'11" and 550 lbs. (not fat) He wears a size 22 shoe and a basketball in his hands looks like a softball. (Not quite) He can play any instrument and like David also makes instruments. He has a baby brother, two years younger, who is much like him, and is the most loving of all creatures. When they placed him in my arms, it was another knee weakening experience.

Now I know why I was born, and it is beautiful.

I see! And I will resist the irresitable temptation to continue this Praise and admiration of our God for we could spend our lives adding these lines and getting quite high in the doing.

I will end my part by saying I agree totally with you and as a very old friend, I find you to be both beautiful and awesome in your own right, because of who you are in Him.

i find it beautiful in that God gives us a wonderful mind to praise Him, especially in light of writing where people with His revelation produce inspirational and uplifting books. (fictions in my area)

Amen! When we have the mind of Christ we do indeed have something wonderful! Ok I will not resist and I will keep this praise and admiration and adoration going then.

AND God is Astonishingly beautiful and the Holy Spirit is Amazingly Awesome.

All thesee things are true, but the Love of Jesus is incomprehensible.

Whenever I read apologetics books, and continually read about how God is in the little things. The Incarnation and crucifixion sorta give that effect of awe, praise, and love. How could God live as one of us solely for the purpose of dying rejected and alone so that we can have something, that we'd never deserve through mere faith in His grace? It's incredible, and when I think of how miserable I can be in comparison to that love, it's just very convicting. TTYL Jesus loves you!

Right Defender! When I think, not only of how He died for me but how He suffered for me.... it is beyond imagination. He had His beard pulled out by the roots, and His face beaten beyond recognition, and huge chunks of meat ripped from His back with 39 stripes from a whip with steel balls tied in the ends. THEN he was nailed to that cross with blood and spit from the soldiers running down His raw and bloody face and dripping of His chin, where He hung for hours with all His weight supported by those hard nails, naked, with a crown of thorns pressed into His skull
while the multitudes laughed and cursed Him, while the soldiers, gave Him vinegar because He yelled out He was thirsty, because His mouth was so dry His tounge literally stuck to the roof of His mouth, and then, as if He were not in enough agony, they stabbed His side with a spear, and finally he was FORSAKEN by God. He is the ONLY person ever forsaken by God. And He did all that for me.

Yes! It is very convicting. It is more. It is beyond expression. Thanks for the reminder.

Another beauty:

Have you seen the beauty of a sinner repenting and give his/her heart to Jesus.

It’s like another 'fire and ice' moment. You laugh and cry at the very same time.

And what makes this more precious it the Angles also 'party' for each soul that is saved. I like to keep the Angles busy with rejoicing. :D

Yes Amen! I have seen that "beauty" and I cannot get enough of it. I have told the story many times now of the awesome experience last summer on a used car lot, when an old white man looked into the face of a young black girl, with tears streaming down her face as she gave her heart to Jesus. That is a unique beauty that is very different from all other beauty.

It is a beauty I hope all in these forums will experience many times before Jesus come to take us Home.

I know of a name, a beautiful name,
That angels brought down to earth;
They whispered it low, one night long ago,
To a maiden of lowly birth.

I know of a name, a beautiful name,
That unto a babe was given;
The stars glittered bright throughout that glad night,
And angels praised God in Heaven.

The one of that name, my Saviour became,
My Saviour of Calvary;
My sins nailed Him there, my burdens He bare,
He suffered all this for me.

I love that blest name, that wonderful name,
Made lower than all in Heaven;
Twas whispered I know in my heart long ago,
To Him, my life I’ve given.

That beautiful name, that beautiful name,
From sin has power to free us;
That beautiful name, that wonderful name,
That matchless name is Jesus.

This beautiful song was written by Jean Perry. Of all the Names for God, this is the most Beautiful ever written about or sung about.

Revelation 19:11-16: “Then I saw Heaven wide open, and before my eyes appeared a white horse, whose rider is called faithful and true, for his judgment and his warfare are just. His eyes are a flame of fire and there are many diadems upon his head. There is a name written upon him, known only to himself. He is dressed in a cloak dipped in blood, and the name by which he is known is the Word of God. The armies of Heaven follow him, riding upon white horses and clad in white and spotless linen. Out of his mouth there comes a sharp sword with which to strike the nations. 'He will rule them with a rod of iron', and alone he will tread the winepress of the furious wrath of God the Almighty. Written upon his cloak and upon his thigh is the name, KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. JB Phillips

How about the beauty of an eclipse? Once I saw an awe-striking lunar eclipse that made the moon look about 20 times it's normal size, and as red as blood. It hung in the sky for an amazing span of time, and all I could do is watch it and worship the God who made such a universe in which such beauty happens. I felt like God was next to me, enjoying the beauty of it with me. I believe artists find joy in their own creations, don't you?
