It's not hard. I know the Bible very well. Your doctrine and beliefs show conflict.A 10 year old would tell you that you can not talk about 2 books contradicting each other if you have not read 1 of the books. Maybe a 5 year old would tell you that.
I know, your point is that you cannot read 2 contradicting books without skewing one's opinion and understanding. I am just telling you that they do not contradict each other. I have read both and are more fully aware of the majesty of Jesus Christ than you are. He has done more than you think he has for his people. You are totally unaware of things your Lord has done and that puts you behind the knowledge curve. So read it and get caught up in one of the best books written since the bible. Once you have read it then you can talk about anything you wish to, but only after you have experienced it. It is just wind until you have read it.
JS said he saw the Father and Jesus, yet put's Moroni on Temples. What can you possibly say?? JS says He translated this, not that it was given to him by inspiration from God but that he translated it himself and it has been proven a false translation.
Until you see the forest through the trees. How long is that going to take? For crying out loud bums many times must this be gone through?
The last information you have about the make-up of Jesus from the bible is that he ascended to his Father and his God in a perfect, resurrected, and exalted body of flesh and bone and spirit. The last word from the bible is that he went to his Father with this body.Just because Jesus had a ressurected body while He was still on earth (He had to otherwise they would not have recognized His form), that does not mean that He stayed in a body after He FULLY left earth.
Your scriptures even say that the Father is without a body.
Knowing the bible is not the issue. It is knowing the BOM and until you do, you can't be in the discussion about the 2 books conflicting. It's not hard. I know the Bible very well. Your doctrine and beliefs show conflict.
It would be so much easier for you Mormons to become Christians. That is my recommendation. Just follow the Bible and you'll be fine.

The bible does not say, he discarded this body on his way up to the Father. You have to assume such a thing in order to believe it because you can give me not supporting scripture from the bible to prove it.
So if you do believe it, you cannot turn to the bible for support. So you can continue to say, "just because Jesus had a body after his resurrection, that does not mean that he stayed in a body after he fully left earth", you have self-chosen a scenerio that could have happened, but you have not chosen a biblical scenerio that could have happened, otherwise the bible would have recorded that special event.

You know the bible very well, but your doctrines and beliefs show conflict too. So where do we go from here?
Why do I have to read the whole BOM to know that this passageKnowing the bible is not the issue. It is knowing the BOM and until you do, you can't be in the discussion about the 2 books conflicting.

No it does not. You misinterpret what Paul was saying. He was telling us that no amount of works will save us from the 1st death, which is the grave. It is only by the grace of Jesus Christ, a free gift from Jesus that saves us from the grave. We can perform all the good works we want and still not be able to raise ourselves from the grave. It is not of works, lest we boast. It is all Jesus and his power as a God that raises us from the grave. Why do I have to read the whole BOM to know that this passage
2 Nephi 25:23 For we labor diligently to write, to persuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do.
Conflicts with this Scripture:
Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast
???

In order to be saved from the 2nd death, separation from God, we have to have faith and do good works and also have the grace of Jesus, who allows us into heaven by washing away all our sins. We have to be worthy of this blessing and so that is why in another scripture it says "faith without works is dead".
You have no way of reconciling "faith without works is dead". You have no idea what to do with this scripture, except ignore it. Thats why I say that mainstream Christians ignore about 1/2 of the bible because it does not fit their salvation theology.
Do you want to test my hypothesis? You tell me what your salvation theology is and then we will bring up about 20 salvation type scriptures and see if you can reconcile your theology to those biblical scriptures. Mormonism can reconcile all of them. How many can you reconcile? Give it a try.
Who are you responding to and what book are you talking about?

The bible says that there can be dead faith, right?
There can also be alive faith. That is faith + good works, right?
