More questions sorry.

My apologies. I get confused easily. I am struggling with inner hostilities too that I don't want to get too far into after all this isn't a board to discuss psychological problems. Just saying.......

I would still like to try to be as perfect and pleasing as possible.

Our pastor has been hitting this hard becuz we so often associate
works with if we're saved today & then feel like a "great" Christian
if we do well another day....
It ALL rests on the finished work of our Lord and what HE did for us-
HE is our righteousness & Him alone.

There is something in our prideful nature that makes us think we're more deserving of Gods grace because of things we do when "deserve" has nothing to do with our salvation. The fact of the matter is we "deserve" eternal damnation because of our sin.

That makes the mercy God shows us thru His grace all the more magnificent! All glory be to God. He is indeed a wondrous God.

I am not trying to do good things for myself or to glorify myself. I do not feel prideful about them. I want to do good and pleasing things to Him for Him. I know I am not more deserving of his grace because of xyz. I know that Christ died for my salvation not anything I do. I read the bible and my pastor also says that we are supposed to try to do things that are pleasing to Him. We get saved to be Christ like and follow His lead. So that is why I ask what's good and what's bad etc for Him. I don't want to please myself or my pride. There are a lot of things I could do that I find good and pleasing but they would go against God's commandments so I avoid them.
