Dear Daily Message Readers,'

READ: Psalm 111

Psalm 111:2 (NIV) "Great are the works of the LORD; they are pondered by all who delight in them."

One of the current problems in aging college dorms (mine included!) is finding enough electrical outlets for all the high-tech that students own. I witnessed this firsthand last weekend as my residents brought in clock radios, CD players, computers, microwave ovens, coffee makers, TVs, weird-colored lamps, and other power-drawing appliances. The power usage from these devices was so heavy at one point the strain on the circuits in our dorm caused a loss of power and air conditioning. There is no doubt in my mind after this experience that dorm room electrical outlets are blowing up and causing problems dorms and in administration budget discussions. Since we live in such a high-tech, electrical-driven society, the absence of power causes frustrations to rise and the quality of life fall.

Thankfully, in our spiritual lives, we have a power source that is never ending and unchanging. And it is found in the Lord. He is always looking for ways to show us His strength and power in our lives. The problem is that we seldom give Him a chance to demonstrate such power in our day-to-day decisions. Yet the psalmist put God's work in perspective when he wrote the following:

Psalm 111:6 "He has shown his people the power of his works, giving them the lands of other nations"
Seek the Lord now and ask Him to use your life in such a way as to show His power supply of miracles and wonders to those around you.

Faith Lesson: God's power should clearly evidence in the way we live our lives.

In Christ,
Darin Smith
