More Intense Natural Disasters - is this a sign?

Last week we have heard about Patricia, a massive 200mph storm hitting Mexico. Today a 7.5 earthquake hits Afghanistan/Pakistan. Is it just me, or are these events getting more devastating and more frequent?

So we average 15 7 to 7.9 Quakes a year, this year we're at 13, so we can still have 2 more this year and be at the normal average.
and 1 8-9 quake this year (on average for the year)

Typhoons seem to be pretty regular too .... but in spite of this, seeing the footage of the intense flooding and suffering still seems to be unsettling for me.

With the media system we have, bad things are reported quickly as opposed to decades ago. And before that you pretty much just knew what went on your own 'village' or nearby towns. Even war news in WW2 was not instant as it is now.

The way I see it I won't know it's time until it's time. I won't be worried either way because I'm ready and trying to do the right thing. JESUS wants us to be ready and watchful and not to be shaken. That means always doing his work, not to sleep until we think time is close because he will come like a thief in the night.

I do believe natural calamities are occurring frequently. We used to get minor tremors once in like 4 years. Now we get like 4 minor to huge tremors a year.

No one knows the day or the hour except the father and woe to those who long for the day of the Lord. I don't think people are as prepared as they think they are and I surely don't think there are as many righteous. It's gonna sneak up on more than not.

I agree! Modern communications gives us an incorrect perception that these natural disasters are getting worse and more frequent. About a century ago a massive earthquake in China killed about a million people and we in the west did not learn of it till months later. Still, there are people so preoccupied with "the end times" that they literally are eager to get on with it. I do not believe that it is intellectually, spiritually or even emotionally healthy to live our lives in constant expectation of the end times. We should live our lives optimistically with a view to making this world a better place not just today or tomorrow but into the far distant future.

We just hear about these sorts of things more now because of how bombarded we are with all different kinds of media exposure. Also, It's marketing 101 to beat people over the head with impending disaster and doom because if people are afraid and uncertain they tend to buy more (and more expensive) things to pacify themselves. Remember, the world could possibly, maybe end tomorrow and you really do need that new Buick.

I noticed the natural disasters are picking up as well.In fact in Arizona there was a 4.0 earth quake not to long ago. Strange for Arizona. And parts of Texas were flooded due to Patricia. I know one thing no one knows the day or the hour of our Lord and Saviors return! Thank the Lord he told us what to be on the alert about. Be ready brothers and sisters our redemption draws near!

Not that strange, they have them every 10 years or so that cause damage, more that don't cause damage.

The amount of earthquakes have been increasing coinciding with the increase in hydraulic fracturing operations in nearby areas.
