  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Homo floresiensis is a golden find. Island ecology has always followed certain "rules". Mammals get smaller and cold blooded reptiles get bigger. Starting with H. erectus we thought hominids were above ecology, forging their own path through their intelligence. H. floresiensis tells us this isn't the case. H. erectus had not gained the ability to totally remove itself from natural selection, or at least was not cemented in a path that could only lead to further brain enlargement.

Interesting side note. Mammals get smaller because resources are limited and being warm blooded uses up a lot of energy. Island ecology caused dinosaurs to shrink, unlike their cold blooded bretheren.

There was an archaeological dig a while ago that found a race of skeleton people too.

Is that a parody website?

"We now know that the skeletons we see in horror films and on Halloween are not mere products of the imagination, but actually lived on Earth."

Is that a joke? Living skeletons? You HAVE to be kidding me.

Sorry for being behind the times, but is that the consensus now, that dinosaurs were endothermic?

Depends on who you ask. I think most agree some clades were and some weren't.

While I'm posting in this thread I'd like to protest these things being called "Hobbits" by the media. It's scientific sensationalism of the worst kind and bugs me to no end. Maybe it's just because I don't like Lord of the Rings :)

Notice how all the evolutionists ignore this key sentence:

"Homo floresiensis represents a ... diseased individual of modern human (Homo sapiens)as some ... have suggested."

New species, or malnutrient due to living on island devoid of nutrients?

The disease that was suggested was microcephaly, not anything nutrient related.

Malnutrition does not result in teeth having different numbers of roots, lack of a chin or the very small stature recorded in these individuals.

It's a variation of the "palaeontologists are stupid" argument, really, isn't it? They're too stupid to see the difference between a malnourished H. sapiens and a different species.

Barrel scraping, I'd say.

The microcephaly explanation was a valid hypothesis when we only had the one fossil. Now we have several, which the microcephaly hypothesis is not consisten with. This leaves us with the seperate species hypothesis.

you haven't heard of the Onion? the Onion is like the parody site, with articles such as "Dolphins evolve opposable thumb, oh sugar says humanity." and "twelve year old girl disproves evolution" with "quotes" from Dawkins saying how he overlooked the Laws of Thermodynamics.
