  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Both men and women, by Baptism, have the calling and the responsibilities of the priesthood of the laity:
CCC 1268 The baptized have become “living stones” to be “built into a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood.”<1 Pet 2:5> By Baptism they share in the priesthood of Christ, in his prophetic and royal mission. They are “a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s own people, that <they> may declare the wonderful deeds of him who called <them> out of darkness into his marvelous light.”<1 Pet 2:9> Baptism gives a share in the common priesthood of all believers.
Note the relationship of the two, the hierarchical and the common priesthoods:
CCC 1547 The ministerial or hierarchical priesthood of bishops and priests, and the common priesthood of all the faithful participate, “each in its own proper way, in the one priesthood of Christ.” While being “ordered one to another,” they differ essentially.<LG 10 # 2> In what sense? While the common priesthood of the faithful is exercised by the unfolding of baptismal grace-a life of faith, hope, and charity, a life according to the Spirit-the ministerial priesthood is at the service of the common priesthood. It is directed at the unfolding of the baptismal grace of all Christians. The ministerial priesthood is a means by which Christ unceasingly builds up and leads his Church. For this reason it is transmitted by its own sacrament, the sacrament of Holy Orders.
The ordained priests of the Church are at the service of her members, those of the common priesthood of the laity. They are servants. Servants! Sadly, not all the ordained see themselves as and act as servants. As Jesus said to His followers:
Mark 10:42 And Jesus called them to him and said to them, "You know that those who are supposed to rule over the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great men exercise authority over them.
43 But it shall not be so among you; but whoever would be great among you must be your servant,
44 and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all.
45 For the Son of man also came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."
Anyone, man or woman, who covets the prestige, the authority, the status, the spotlight of the ordained priesthood, and disdains the thought of being a humble servant, may be seeking to be a "hireling", climbing over the sheepfold wall in the night, and not entering by the Door, through Christ. Such a person does not have a vocation, but merely an ambition.

Could a woman represent the Holy Spirit?

Could a woman be a bishop or a cardinal ?
A woman can be a witness to the Holy Spirit. The Blessed Mother is the
prime example.

Can a woman be a bishop or cardinal? No.

Knock and the door will be opened.
But you're trying to knock the door down, not be open to God's will in the matter.

BTW, when I see women praying for women's ordination, then they might get
God's attention. However, all we see is feminist demanding ordination as they
see it as a source of power.
