  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

We should all ask what we can do for God when we pray not what he can do for us. We are the servants.

Well said.......once we listen, we know.

I start out every day asking what I can do. Very rarely do I ever ask anything for myself just for others. This life and the chance at an even better one is all anyone could ever ask for. I am thankful and grateful. If I'm found not worthy on judgment day I will apologize and take my punishment without complaint.

Only those who chose with total freedom will be lost. Those in hell would not abide being in God's presence, hell is of their own making. Jesus came to save us from ourselves, not from some wrathful, fallen man like diety.

Have you ever considered this :
Thus says the LORD: "Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the LORD. -Jeremiah 17:5
He is like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see any good come. He shall dwell in the parched places of the wilderness, in an uninhabited salt land. -Jeremiah 17:6

What do you think ?

I agree. Without trust in the Lord we have nothing. Man can't save you or give you everlasting life.

Arc F1,
When you hear the above verse, you should know that the Lord is asking you to rely on His strength to keep His commandments.

That is why this is written after Jeremiah 17:5-6, in Jeremiah 17:7:

"Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose trust is the LORD. -Jeremiah 17:7

What is He asking you to trust ? Is it not His strength ?
