  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A man in a movie was seeking to bring about a revival of love with his wife, the couple living in a routine where feelings were on the fall. He made her Believe another man was interested in her, without himself to know anything of this. He soon discovered himself, as being the author of Anonymous letters and flowers.
The movie is humoristic.
Nevertheless, do you find the procedure moral or immoral, please?

I don't think deceiving one's wife in that regard would ever have a good result in real life, and the deception itself is wrong.

Moreover, writing the letters to his wife directly (and following through with their sentiments) would have the desired effect.

immoral - deceptive in nature - could have a happy ending - could have a bad ending ... depends on the "movie".

I'd call it potentially risky and stupid.

And yes, potentially tempting her to sin would fall under "causing another person to sin." God judges that harshly.
Brings about reflection, thank you, Sketcher

I agree with this. Looking at the situation it seems to me that the man in question had eyes set on worldly things. Thus bringing about his deceiving of his wife and the potential of causing his wife to sin. It makes me think of Adam and Eve at the beginning where Eve caused Adam to sin. What did God do?
To answer your question directly, it was immoral.

I'ld say that I would have to know more of where it went from there, to be able to answer the question.

Context and more detail seems required.

Just a movie! Done to be humoristic..Doesn't give more precision. Thank you

Sure, but I'm guessing the movie lasted more then then the 2 minutes to explain the overall plot... :)

So my answer at this point is that it can be moral, immoral and amoral, depending on where it went from there. :)

The movie is "Le zèbre", with the french comic actor Thierry Lhermite, but i Don't know whether any English translation has been done, if you're interested in watching it.
