Hey FutureTeller: get a load of this:

Qur’anic Embryology
Yo! Interesting first part about the scientist, lucky for me I don't use dubious sources for my verifications (see http://www.christianforums.com/t57104)

Anyway, the second part speaks of embryology in other Scripture. I don't see how disproves the claim of the Qur'an since the Qur'an itself says that the Torah and Gospel are Divine Revelations, so they too must contain accurate information about such facts. If there is any error in this information, then it is manmade errors and not the original text which is at fault.

Not to mention that the embryo issue is ONE scientific reference in the Qur'an among hundreds. Sure, if we look at one on its own it might not be something magnificient, but there are too many similar references to the water cycle, structure of the skies/earth/oceans, the expansion of the universe, the origins of Iron, historical events, etc etc

ALSO!

Let's not forget that the Qur'an is not a book of science, but a comprehensif revelation that is intended to cover all issues for mankind's existence, and this includes all previous Revelations: Torah, Gospels, Pslams and others we don't know about that were sent to other peoples.

The references made in the Qur'an to natural phenomenon are more like signposts, so that we direct our attention to them as Signs from God. By studying these phenomena further, we see the astonishing detail in God's creation.

So of course, the Qur'an cannot be explicit about these issues, but instead works to point us in the right direction, we're then supposed to employ our God given skills and reason to do the rest.

How about you start posting your own opinions and arguments instead of sending me to waste my time on missionary sites that definetly have no new information to bring to the table.

The "refutations" on that site rely heavily on semantics and how you define one word or another. Stick to the Arabic version of the Qur'an if you can understand it, and things will become much much clearer.

THat is the thing!
Muslim rely on semantics!!
Oh my friend, I probably understand arabic much better than you do:cool:

maybe you could explain us this:
Wa allahou jahala lakoum al arda bisata
71:19"'And Allah has made the earth for you as a carpet
And Allah hath made the earth a wide expanse for you
And Allah has made for you the earth a wide expanse"

79:30 wa al arlda baada dalika dahaha

THe problem with the Kur'an is that it is supposed to be revealed and not inspired, meaning the exact word of God, so it has to be absolutly error free.
So before trying to find any supposed science in it, better use your time by correcting its mistakes;)

What about it? It doesn't say the Earth is flat! Spreading or making it a wide expanse doesn't make it flat!

Plus, look at it with modern knowledge! Are not continental plates like bisat (carpet) riding on the tectonic flows? Are they not wide expanses of land where no great sea is present?

Please. hatoo burhanakom, in kuntum saadikeen.
