Sruka arrived in a place that he was quite familiar with. It was where he had been trained for years. He quickly walked down a corridor in his human form. Most of the people here were werewolves, but they always used human form except for messengers. he quickly assured himself that all four of his daggers were in good shape and hidden, before stepping into a room. It was quite large, with torches beaming light upon a desk where a lone man sat, grumbling softly to himself as he scratched on a slate. Sruka knew this guy, it was one of his best friends, he was a werewolf but rarely changed into wolf form, he said it was undignified.
When Sruka had left, this was the last person he had talked to, to get notified about different troubles in the world. "Hello Rushak!" he said softly, his voice echoing slightly in his friends barren study, Rushak had always like the darkness and creepy dungeons, and his office was like a creepy dungeon room where the dungeon keeper lives.
As his friend looked up, his eyes alit with pleasure, and Sruka noticed something. It had been deathly quiet since he got here, he hadn't remembered it like this. It was always noisy and bustling, with lots of light and laughter in the halls. Now it was not so light, and there was no laughter, there wasn't very many torches on the walls either.
"Sruka!" Rushak cried when he caught sight of his friend in the dim light. "You came!" Rushak carefully made his way over to Sruka, careful to avoid a few stones on the floor for added affect.
This wasn't right, there was no bustle or hustle outside and their voices echoed. "WHat happened?" Sruka asked, "what happened to all the light and bustle and laughter?" he ended his softly so his voice wouldn't echo.
Tears formed in his friends eyes, "gone, all gone. There is nobody left besides me, and Isako." the tears began to stream Rushak's cheeks, leaving wet trails as they slid down and slowly dropped off his face onto the stone floor. "The human's took them, they launched a war against us werewolves and tried to take all of us away a dungeon. Isako and I escaped and fought, we made it back here. We have been living on the secret extras for about two weeks now. We both live in this room right here, it was the only one they didn't wreck. I was doing paperwork right now on how much longer the extras would last us. THey should last us about 5 years, with only the two of us, so that is no problem. We need help though, and I was hoping that you would have some friends that could help, we need it desperately. THis is not a glory mission, if we want our kin back then we will have to act as spies and use stealth to our advantage. The enemy has a fortress and about 500 men posted there. We will have to penetrate it." Rushak ended softly, he had stopped his tears but his eyes held a slightly hopeless look. But looking in deeper, Sruka saw courage and determination.
"I will help, and I have some friends on the way, only a small group, but perfect for a stealth party. Where is Isuko right now?" Sruka asked, his voice having a hard tint to it. His friends were gone, in a deep dungeon, now he had only two more and his little group to fight with. But they would fight, oh yes they would fight. They would release his kin and unleash their fury upon their captors. There had been about 200 werewolves living in this castle, now there was only three, formerly 2.
"He is out getting information, he should be back tonight. Come, let us light some more torches and eat. I know just as well as you do that a teleportation makes you starving. Lets get this dreary place underway, I need to clean out my room soon, so we can actually live in it. This whole castle has a dungeon affect now, I need to make this room be a lighted merry place, like all the other rooms used to be." Lighting a few more torches with the one's already lit, the room was soon in full light.
Surveying it Sruka noticed no changes, except that there was now much food being kept here. Rushak took out some bread and fruit, which had obviously just been made and picked. He then took out some flour, water, and a pie pan, and some preserves and started making a pie. Deciding to be useful, Sruka began making the pie crust, while his friend lit up an old oven. They talked as they worked and then eventually ate. Getting caught up on the other recent things, as they banned the gloominess with their chatter and laughter.
