But the photons bouncing off my skin could NEVER be the only source of light, since those photons would have to originate somewhere else.
Then let’s put it another way. The only source of light available to the observer.
So my skin could be a "light source" if there was a separate source of light which was shining on me yet remained hidden from those looking at me? And you suggest that a similar thing could be happening with the moon? And when it comes to the moon, what would this hidden lightsource be? Let me remind you that you can't say it's the sun, since you're claiming that the source must be hidden from the observer and the sun is not hidden from us.
The Sun s certainly hidden from us any time the Moon is a significant source of illumination.
The word of God says:
Genesis 1:16: And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
Falsely so called science says:
The moon does not have light. The sun's light is reflected off the moon surface.
So which do creationists believe? Are you really going to "adapt" God's word to aethiest science unscientific explanations? No man has gone past the firmament (they tried to in Genesis and God confounded them).
Don't know what you think you're seeing but that moon looks pretty blue to me.Science says the moon is 230,000+ miles out in space in the blackness of space, surrounded by dark space.
But when we see the moon during the day, the blue of the sky/heaven/raqia is always seen behind the blue. No matter how much a person zooms in on the moon the blue stays behind the moon.
The so called dark of space that the moon is supposed to be in, can never be shown to be seen around or behind the moon.
At night when there is dark seen around the moon, it is still just sky/heaven/raqia that is behind the moon.
The sky has just, lost the light of the sun to illuminate the sky, the sky does not all of a sudden become transparent and a person, can now look beyond the sky/heaven/raqia into outer space.
The sun, moon and stars are all located above the earth in the raqia, firmament, expanse, vault, dome.
Moon blue, behind the moon.

ROFLMAO!!!
Oh wow, that is so funny. Please, stick to your guns on this. I'd hate to see such an absurd argument die an early death.
May be you should change your faith on your profile from skeptic to blinded by science.
If you download the picture and open it in MS paint, you can extract the color from parts of the moon. If you do so, you can clearly see that the extracted colors have a blue hue, with the hue getting more pronounced at the craters.Study your colors more and learn to see the difference between white & blue (white/moon on the left and blue/sky,heaven on the right behind the moon.

Are you saying God uses Photoshop to make things look lie they do? He had modern computer software way before science discovered it, so that's another win for Creationism. Science schmience.No.
The sky is blue because of Raleigh scattering, which I'm not going to explain here. Suffice it to say, the blueness is confined entirely within our atmosphere.
Without the atmosphere, the sky around the moon would look black, even in daylight. This is what astronauts in space see, whether they are on the day side of the planet or the night side.
The reason the sky around the moon looks blue is because the blueness is brighter than the blackness of the sky but not brighter than the moon. If you have Photoshop, you can try it. Take a photo of the moon on a black background and make that the background layer. Then put a new layer on top of it and fill it with a sky blue colour. Change the blend mode of the blue layer to "Lighten" and you'll see the moon come through, but the black won't show at all.

I have looked very carefully at the moon picture and I still cannot see the lady with the white and gold dress! Where is she?If you download the picture and open it in MS paint, you can extract the color from parts of the moon. The sunlight reflects from the moon and then shines through the air, overlapping and sometimes blending out the blue of the sky, if the light reflected by the moon is bright enough. But when it isn't, especially in the darker craters, you can still see the blue, just of a lighter shade than the blue of the pure sky because there is still some light shining through.
Satire. I find YECs and Flerfers hugely amusing.Note sure if real or satire.
In any case, I was illustrating the point. The Lighten blend mode basically tells photoshop to compare the pixels on the layer being adjusted, and if those pixels are lighter than the pixels on layers underneath, it will show the pixels on the top layer.

Hi Taylor. What’s your veiw on the distance from the earth to the moon. Is it over 200,000 kilometres away? The star trek girl offering her scientific lie explanation, thank you but no thank i will stick with the truth of the Bible.
