  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Moms: how soon after delivery did AF return?

I breastfed my daughter for 8.5 months, AF came back at 10.5 months.

I breastfed my son for 1 year, AF came back 3 days before his first birthday - so almost 12 months.

Both were started on solids from around 5 months and sleeping through well before AF came back, it just takes my body that long to regulate itself - and the first couple of cycles are usually very long.

A friend of mine was EBF her daughter, and AF came 28days after she gave birth... she was not impressed!

Mine has been different with all 3 of mine.

Baby 1 was EBF but I was on the mini pill and AF came back at 14 months PP
Baby 2 was EBF and AF returned at 11 weeks PP
Baby 3 is EBF and I got AF at 6 weeks PP then another 2 weeks after that and then nothing until 4.5 months PP

So as you can see I was/am all over the place!

With DD, I exclusively used pumped breast milk for 6 weeks. AF arrived on week 6 and I pretty much dried up almost imediately. By the next month, I was pregnant with DS. With DS, I EBF for 3 mos. Still saw AF at 6 weeks. AF hasn't been regular since he was born. He's 6 now. I may go 45 days, or it may only be two weeks.

My first 2 I formula fed, so got my period back at 6wks postpartum.

The next 3 were breastfed, but I stopped co-sleeping at 6 months and got my period back shortly thereafter.

The next 3 were also breastfed, but I co-slept for nearly a year with them so lots of night nursing kept my period away until 14 months, 15 months, and 17.5 months respectively.

With my youngest (now 6 months old) I'm exclusively pumping and taking meds to help boost milk supply, so that's keeping my period away for now....
