  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I agree that there needs to be a balance.

My concern is when I see a series of posts calling the guys weirdos. To me, this is an insult to the seriousness of purity in a corrupt world. Whether someone disagrees with a survey question or not, is immaterial to what this survey represents. These are real guys, who are really struggling. These are souls crying out for help from women.

I think it is important to always keep this perspective in mind, especially considering how many younger members and lurkers browse OBOB. I'm sure there are members who still dress immodestly. These threads should encourage such people to reconsider how they dress, yet I do not see how this thread helps when posts deride the men in the survey.

I would like to quote both BillH and epiclesis. Worri, worri. Both posts I agree with. I think that it would behove us all to check our dress or lack thereof.

I would suggest to those who find such innocent things as a calf on some ladies leg or other things I read, had better get some sort of help. No one knows who the men/boys in the survey are of who said what. I tend to believe that those who participated and read maybe here or elsewhere might just get some sort of inkling that just maybe they have an unreasonable expectation or reaction to some of the things discussed here. The young I personally excuse cause as BillH put it, we would all have to wear burka's.

I think the real question we should be asking is whether long stockings are a stumbling block.
