If someone tried to lecture me on my clothing, I don't think it would upset me. I guess it would depend on how they approached the subject. If someone just randomly pointed a finger and shouted "harlot! repent!" that would be a little annoying lol. But if someone just said something like "I believe women should only wear dresses or skirts" I'd simply say "I don't" and leave it at that.

What kinds of interactions have you guys had, that would upset you so much?
I guess it is like anything else. There are some people who have their pet topics and are like a dog with a bone with those topics. They just won't let go.

I personally have not been on the receiving end since being a male and all but I have seen others who have had it drummed into them to the point where the first time they wore jeans they simply could not enjoy themselves because they were wracked with guilt.
I have seen a church divided over should women cover their head in church while praying.

The trouble comes when you want to "leave it at that," and they WON'T. They've got to get the last word in. They'll say something smarmy like, "Well, if you don't want to follow the Bible, I wouldn't want to be in your shoes on Judgment Day." Yeah, stuff like that.

What culture/denomination were these people?

Oh boy, a comment like that would probably make me burst out laughing, which surely wouldn't help the situation :D
