Just in case you missed this one from the same page:

"Again any member of CF may create or edit a Wiki article; you do not need to join a team or fill out an application to get permission. However, there are some basic guidelines it is considered polite to follow when editing an article. Just try to keep in mind that there are many other people also working on the article, and that actions such as deleting everything and replacing it with what you want isn't the best way to go about this. The goal is for everyone affected by a set of rules to have a voice in setting them up, if they so desire. To that end, it is generally considered best to use the Wiki discussion to try and reach an agreement about any changes. It can be a slow process, but reaching a compromise people can live with before changing the Wiki can save a lot of frustration later on."

The same goes for you since you deleted something that RC had written without discussing it and added several rules without a consensus. And that announcement was just posted yesterday; there were no posted guidelines before that.

Anyway, since we have both been impolite, and since we are starting over with the wiki process, let's set aside our personal differences for a while and try to work out something that everyone can live with.

Honor the Sabbath,

I sent you that nasty PM because you were being unkind to someone I thought had sincere questions and did not believe was trying to churn up the forum. Your posts are sometimes judgemental and self-righteous and I stand by that. You don't win people to God or even successfully defend your beliefs by that kind of spirit. I stand by that. I can see both sides of this forum, but I cannot see treating those who are supposed to be brothers in Christ with such an unkind spirit. I also believe icedragon would make a good progressive mod.

I apologize if I offended you.

Annie

Actually, RC flamed me in the wiki. I deleted the portion of his post that contained a flame. I did not delete his rule suggestion.

And as for adding things to the wiki, I did nothing wrong by doing this, since I didn't delete rule suggestions in order to do it. There was one accidental situation when I did a rollback which resulted in deleting a rule suggestion. But it wasn't intentional, as were your deletions which I believe were done more so out of spite than anything else.

When you deleted my entire wiki entry without notice, not all of our active forum members had a chance to have their say on the matter. In fact, several people even agreed to what I had suggested. It was hardly a consensus that agreed to delete it! In fact, the idea here, as stated by Erwin, is to have "everyone affected by a set of rules to have a voice in setting them up". You did not allow for this to take place before you made your deletions. You had two or three people that agreed with you, and took it upon yourself to assume that that was good enough to warrant a wiki deletion, while knowing full well that there are more members that didn't have a chance to give their input on the matter, which by the way, concerning the matter of not censoring the topic of theistic evolution, the majority has voted against it.

So I don't think it is fair to compare your behavior with what I did. And I still think you owe me an apology.

Anyway, I can agree that we should put this aside.

Ice, could you be a mod and set aside any past disagreements you've had with someone to follow the rules of moderation?

Could you be totally fair no matter who has breached a rule?

I ask this of anyone that wants to be a mod.
Saying "Yes" does not mean she won't make an error in judgement at some time. I think that is what the Feedback button is there for.

yes for sure.

moderating is not about content. it is about how you play the game.

Mods are the referees of the forum.

So even though you and I have had a disagreement in the past, you would not look at anything I say in a different light as anyone else saying the same thing?

If it's not a rule violation, it's not a rule violation.

If it is a rule violation and it's one of your friends, you'd still be fair?

yep

the problem in this forum is not what is said usually, but in how it is said. people just don't want to say things in a nice way. They expect every one to agree with them and when the don't they attack. I don't expect everyone to agree with me, but I do expect people to be civil. the mods are to keep things civil.
