  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Mixed thoughts.

I have mixed emotions on the thoughts of singleness and marriage. I know it not un heard of for someone my age to marry but on the other hand it not unheard of someone to be single for a life time. I have heard of a well known seminary professor to stay single his entire life. So my thoughts really have been a mixed bag on these two thoughts. I have been praying this prayer to God recently and asking His will to be done.

It's okay to have mixed thoughts about whether marriage is good for you. There are blessings and hardships associated with both singleness and marriage, either state is lawful and potentially profitable for a Christian man or woman, a godly spouse could be a great blessing and an ungodly spouse could be the biggest obstacle one could ever face to serving God faithfully- all reasons to pray earnestly, screen diligently, discern carefully, and not be hasty in going forward in marriage or in concluding one will stay single for life.
