  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

missing bones.

Im glad its in there too, because whenever someone tries to be a literal biblicalist, yet tries to add parts into the book, saying "god did it" to explain something. I can always say, they included this small detail, Yet Nothing about what you claim god did, Why?
:)

Im curious though, why are the fossils Not sorted like they should be. Why do we never find small dinos or small dino bones with mammals? Why do we never see large mammal bones with Dinos?

The Bible doesn't LIST OFF everything God did. I'm not NOT a Biblical literalist if I think the hand of God oversaw something that wasn't specifically mentioned.

BTW, I'm Calvinist- I believe that God works and administrates EVERYTHING according to His will.

We DO find small dinos, don't we?

Here's something- people always say how you can look at the rock layers and see species evolve in complexity.

Fossils are rare as is, and may be found miles apart. Usually MUCH more. You don't see dino bones with mammals because no logical person would expect to find such together. That'd be like discovering plutonium, by accident. We see fossils of mammals. We see fossils of dinos. And yes I'm quite sure that we see fossils of small dinos. What more do you want? TTYL Jesus loves you!

On top of that, what with the flood and all, the dinosaur carcass was probably quite heavy, and got buried by MASS amounts of earth.
whales are very heavy, so are elephants and hippos, but they don'T sink like lead when you drop them in the water. This hypothesis raises alot of problems

1) bouyancy is not related to size, it is related to density, there should be no fossilised fish from a global flood, since dead fish float, and they would have been wafing round in the water while the sediment settled.
2) swimming dinosaurs are all fossilised too, so are all the flying ones, these ones should be higher up that the landbound ones, even if the landbound ones are "very dense"
3)YECs should sink like a brick when dropped into water. (j/k)

If Flood sorting is true, and heavier things were sorted below lighter things, then what I want is evidence that supports this prediction.

To start off with, we should find light Dinos with light mammals (same layer, same dating) and Heavy dinos with heavy mammals (same layer, same dating).

If we can not find even this, what does this say about the theory of Hydrolic (flood) sorting?

the point is, that we don't find them together. As I raised in my previous post, there is no possible sorting method. Arikay I think mentioned that dinosaur bones could be heavier, but even then, this would require the dinosaurs to rot instantly in order for their bones to sink, including all the swimming and flying ones... the flood was just water, not H2SO4. If dinos and mammals co-existed on the same planet, of course you would expect to find them together. mammals exist on every continent and landmass where dinosaurs have been found, so why wouldn't we expect to find a T-Rex with an elephant bone in it's stomach or something like that?

There is a difference between a Wooden boat, and a Very Very Large wooden boat.
There is a difference all right, one is big and the other is small. But maybe the small one evolved into a biger one. :)

With the quick math of the flood I did a long time ago. I found out that around 505 Tons of water would fall on the ark per minute.[/quote\

You forgot to read your Bible though. It talks about how the water came up out of the ground. It did not all fall from the sky.

So, when the bible says, it "rained" thats not really Water from the sky John?
Um, Yes it did pay attention to that. I even gave the flood the benefit of the doubt. Didnt help it much. :) Maybe check up on your bible, and water data information a bit more John. :)

Not only should we expect to find them together, but if the flood and other things "distorted" the dinosaur bones. We should find Fossilized Human bones with the same "distortions" as the dino bones. In other words, we should find Very old Fossilized Human bones, that appear to have existed with dinosaurs.
Why dont we?

let's not get off topic by talking about the ark.
Party Pooper.

The flood is so much fun!

All right, all right...back on topic.

Oh, wait a second...are we waiting for a logical answer?

Hmmm...perhaps that is why the conversation took a little detour to "the flood" in the first place?

The Hidden History of the Human Race is a book arguing that humans as we are have existed for 100s of thousands of years or more. They are atheistic evolutionists. Perhaps I can find some resources in there.
sounds a bit off topic. it also sounds like a fringe element... try not to get them confused with proper scientists ;)

Im still curious why we dont find Fossilized Human bones with the same "flood distortions" as the dino bones.
In other words, we should find Very old Fossilized Human bones, that appear to have existed with dinosaurs.
Again, why dont we?

that of course, is the parellel opposite of the OP. Since, just the same, we should probably find unfossilized Dinosaur bones that should date similiar to humans.

Its amazing how many things we should find if YEC was true. Its also amazing how many things we Dont find. :)

yeap... there are no examples of fossilised human bones that look 125 million years old. not a single one. This is essentially the problem with the flood distortions theory: there is no consistency to it, there is no basis for it, there are no theoretical models for it.

If you want to talk about Noah's Ark, why don't you start up a thread about it.

Genesis 8:2
The fountains of the deep and the windows of heaven were also stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained.

The simple fact is that people who take creation as described in Genesis can't explain dinosaurs at all.
I take creation as it is described in Genesis and I have no problem to explain dinosaurs. It is really very simple, reptiles do not stop growing. If you find an old crocodile or an old turtle today, they are going to be very big, compared to the size they were when they first started out. Dinosaurs that lived a long life grew to be big. The ones that did not live as long of course were smaller.

What does the size of dinosaurs have to do with anything?
