• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Don't believe those lies you are telling yourself!

No matter how much the pain and how much the hopelessness, Jesus is right there with you. Always remember this is not heaven. Heaven is to come, but I only can ask you to stop listening to the negative voices in your head. They are lies from the pit of hell. Our choice is to believe the lies or look for the truth. The truth is Jesus loves you more than any person. He is the only One who will ever love you unconditionally. Only He can fill that void in you that is desiring hope and purpose. He is ready to listen to you right now. Go to Him in prayer. Tell Him all these troubles. The key is: Will you decide to believe the lies or turn to the One who loves you and cares about every aspect of your life?

Definitely praying for you. And remember, "The greater the trial, the sweeter the victory." Jesus has victory for you. Keep holding on. One day at a time, one step at a time, one moment at a time. Just keep turning to Him. No matter what happens. Just keep turning to Him, talking to Him, and choosing to trust Him no matter how things feel. He will bring you through.

Thank you for the replies :) I've been feeling a bit suicidal all day and I just switched my medication from 20mg to 40mg, could it be because of that and maybe it'll go away with time? I'm scared of taking another pill. It might have been because of stress so I'll give 40mg another shot for now.

I would call the doctor and tell him you have been suicidal and not do anything of course; sometimes those medications can (oddly) cause that side effect in children, teens and young adults I know it makes NO sense. If you really feel you are a danger to yourself either call a hotline or if you REALLY think you need help NOW since you are 18 you could check yourself into a hospital and get help that way.

Either way please do not do anything I am praying for you and feel free to PM me. I am on the east coast, however and it is nearly 11PM so I will be heading to bed soon.

That's probably the culprit.

These are strong medications. You just made a big change. Your body needs time to adapt. Don't put all your trust in yourself when obviously there are big changes happening in your body. Know what the problem is. Your adjusting.

Try not to think. Listen to some relaxing music, read the Word, go for a walk.

I'll be praying for you. *big hug*
