Yay!I know it's a tiny step maybe to some, but it's a leap over the Grand Canyon for this family...
My DH (dear husband) OFFERED to say grace last night before dinner.
(applause)
If you knew him, and how much I have prayed for him to open his heart to God and how very lost he has been all his life, and if you knew how PROUD he is and how much he has refused to humble himself for so many years, and how many other things he has held as idols, thinking that was what life was all about (sports, materialism, image)...you would know what a miracle this is.
My older son was stupified and couldn't stop himself from smiling ear to ear!!
We were about to do the usual, bow our heads to pray for our food, me and our two boys, while DH sat blankly and just wanted to start eating (night after night the usual thing) when out of no where, he interupts rather akwardly and says, 'mind if I say it tonight'?
I just smiled and quickly said of course, and tried to act as natural as possible. . .
Meanwhile, inside I was reeling, as HE said grace over our children's heads, instead of me...and I was praising God for His MIGHTY power and influence!
Just wanted to share that with you all, it's a JOY to know the really lost really can be FOUND! (and I won't stop praying for more of these baby steps....!)
