Hello All,

Been a little while since I been back here but I figured I would start off a topic to see what kind of imput I get from ya all.

Just about evertthing we see nowadays is new and improved. it is built on the same principles, with new technologies. Its marketing is fast paced, and graced with excitement.

Having been in ministry for some time now, I have been watching out children grow in new ways in to a new culture, with new temptations.

My feelings andexperiance on the matter is that our ministries must evolve to counteract the these cultures, with new and fresh cutting edge tools and tactics being used to bring this new culture to Jesus.

An example of this is as such: We meet in bars on sunday and give the word in a language that the people can understand. Our church will look more like a lounge than a place full of pews. Our music is modern even with a few hyms redone to fit the modern mold.

The Key is community outreach. Finding the needs of the people, finding what drives the people and giving them a more posative alternative to what they already have. The core of it all is Jesus!

Whats your take?

I think your initial thought is quite valid. I don't like the second part though. It's not that I don't like a bar, it's just that I believe that a church service is a place for people to worship God, not to evangelize. Evangelization is something different and belongs in a different venue. Worship can happen at an evangelism point but the regular meeting of a group of believers for the purpose of worship should be just that, worship.

Back to thought #1. The ministry is changing. It's a good thing that you can see that. Too often people work hard to get to the point where they can lead and then try to keep the status quo with no thought toward change. God changes life here on earth. The biggest change of all will be when Jesus comes back and judgement happens!

God is calling His people to obedience. He wants us to live the way He designed it, not the way the church has evolved into.

Keep your eye on the Lord and follow His plan.

God Bless

My church, Granger Community Church, takes a modern approach to sharing the Gospel, minus the bar. Check out their website. www.gccwired.com
