Hi, my goal in life is to become a pastor, please pray for me, PM me to talk and post helpful thoughts or comments here.

God Bless and have a blessed Sabbath.

The ordinary people embraced Jesus while religious leaders and theologians did not.

We are all priests 1 Peter 2:9.

In the end, it will be the same. This is not a knock on Tall73. But I think you'd better off study the bible on your own and have your own lay ministry.

You have yet to prove that I came to my recent conclusion by anything but Bible study.

The Bible no where says that there should not be leadership just because there is also poor leadership.

The Bible nowhere says that all leaders rejected Christ. In fact it says that some came forward after the resurrection, priests, etc. And there was also Nicodemus who came forward even as the disciples were hiding.

In your zeal to enforce your view, don't use the Scriptures to say just what you want to say.

If you have an issue with me, perhaps keep it to the threads where the isssue is discussed. And if you convince me of your view biblically, fine.

Hi,

That in no way was directed at you or your understanding on our sanctuary doctrine.

I was pointing out the plain fact and my displeasure with the organized religions in general.

Jesus said I thank thee O Father who has hidden from the wise and prudent and revealed onto the babes.

Look, you have loyalty to the church. I don't. I just think there is a greater chance to fail in that system. The SOP says in the end, it will be the laymen who will hold fast the standard. We don't need a degree or a title to preach.

It is loyalty to the Scriptures which show the apostles appointing overseers in all the church.

Yes, The Lord revealed it to little children. And the little children were appointed as leaders.

Paul congratulated the Philippian church because EVERY man was working as one for the gospel. That is what it should be, leaders and lay people.

So show me texts where God changed the church system He established:

1Ti 3:1 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.

1Ti 3:13 For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.

As to degrees, no you don't need them.

As to titles, it is far more than a title, but the Bible does uphold leaders in the church.

Paul spells out the requirements, and they are character requirements.

And we have a number of men preaching who have no degree, but who God called and so they are in the work.

Leaders are not to lord it over the flock, but should meet the requiements listed.

Not all pastors are that way, and very few that I know are praised. More often, they face unrealistic expectations and unconstructive criticism. If people forget that pastors are just ordinary humans, it's not their fault. Being a pastor is really a pretty humbling experience because he has so many overwhelming responsibilities and also so many reminders of how far short he falls from God's ideal.
