So I just got this last week and its awesome. But I need lotsa books shelves for my enchantment table but I don't have anywhere near enough sugar cane to make enough paper for the umpteen books I need to make the 15 book shelves. But I did stumble on some vilager houses that have some book shelves. Can I just take them?

PC or console version?

I have the PC version and love it. The console version is about 6 versions behind sadly. You can do what you want in the game really. If you see those bookshelves then just break them apart and take them for yourself. The villagers never were fully upgraded so you can do anything to them and they don't respond really lol.

However in the newest update for the PC version you can right click on a villager and trade with him. Often trading jewels for items, sometimes enhanced.

I stole enough bookshelves(books) from villagers lol. Well I had to make one. And I have the mac version.

Ah I see lol. I struggle with playing the normal difficulty settings. I often end up switching it to peaceful because the constant work at making weapons and armor can be a tedious. I tried the hardcore mode once. Did great until I went to go into my house and a creeper fell in front of my door and blew me up.

Yeah I'm getting a better hang of it. Still not 100% on how to do the enchanting stuff.
