Hi every one, been going through a great time lately. Just have found it hard to figure out some things about the Lord, for instance it is hard to chase and catch a hound. Samson possibly under the pwer of the Holy Spirit managed to not only catch, but keep three hundred foxes together, paired them up and set their tails ablaze.

What on earth were these foolish foxes doing when they were caught and couldn't they flee? I guess the ravens that fed Isaiah at the brook may give me te last word on that, or may be the animals that entered the ark. What is your take on this, is the Lord too smart or are we just too blind?

It is difficult to understand some of the stories that have been included in the Canon. Whether it be Balaam's version of Mr. Ed or Jonah's version of Monstro and Pinnochio... the details of the story are never as important as the lessons to be learned.
Much of Hebrew literature, and in fact middle eastern literature in general, is loaded with idioms and colloquialisms that need to be understood in order to see the truth of the scripture. "being in a fish" for example is like our expression, "being in a pickle". With Nineveh meaning "fish-town" and Jonah meaning "Dove" we get the image of a peaceful, harmless man being spiritually lost in the midst of this city trying to avoid doing what God has commanded him to do.
