Hi All!!

Since reformed Christians differ on this subject, I was curious to take a poll on what your millennial positions were. I'm not sure if this would be more appropriate in the eschatology section, but I was interested in hearing from the reformed folk on here! Also, along with your position, if you could include the type or denomination of church you attend that would be interesting.

Just to start off - I lean towards ammillennialism and I'm in the PCA

Sorry if this is something that has been beat to death!

I intentionally don't have one. All of them are nothing but man's opinions. The opinions of men are of no value to souls bound for eternity. We are never told to search out the times when Christ should return but we are told to preach the Gospel in our generation. The Gospel is our business not eschatology. I am a Baptist btw.

Amil, as i find it is the most cristocentric hermeneutic, glorifies God, exalts Christ, and allows the New Testament to interpret the Old, not the other way around, when it comes to the covenant promises of God.

2Co 1:20 For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory.

Eph 3:21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

I am undecided at this point. I used to be Dispensational PreMil, but began to see problems with it. Looked at Amil, not convinced yet. Because of where I'm at with this, I stay out of discussions about Eschatology. I hope to be able to spend some time in study on this subject in the near future.

Very loosely attached to historic premillenialism. I sometimes prefer to use "Chiliast" because of how Dispensationalism has come to own the word premillenial.

When it comes down to it, my belief is that at an undisclosed time in the future, Jesus comes back.

Historic Premillennialism is a good term too. :p

Very well said. My sentiment also. :)

Who knows? It may be a copout to not hold a firm position but that's where I am now.

I used to be pre-millenial. Not sure anymore. One can only wonder. :)

The church's historic confession of faith simply says that "He will come to judge the living and the dead" so you're in good company! After all, this is our blessed hope, the glorious appearing of our great God and savior Jesus Christ.

I'm an elder at a tiny little non-denominational country community church. (That was a mouthful!!) Our statement of faith was pretty generically Christian...except for the premil, pre-trib rapture in the 'eschatology' paragraph. A few years ago, I managed to get that changed by presenting my case before the pastor and other elders, and then getting it approved by a congregational vote. We changed it to:

9. We believe in the future physical return of Christ to the earth for His church (Acts 1:11; Revelation 22:7, 12-20); in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust
(I Thessalonians 4:16-18; Acts 24:15); of the everlasting blessedness of the saved (I Corinthians 15:52-53) and the everlasting punishment of the lost (Revelation 20:6, 14, 15).

That is pretty impressive. [No offense intended to the rational dispy's] Dispensationalists of the non-academic type tend to be rabid about defending their pre-mil, pre-trib rapture theology. Kudos, for your successful Apologetic...

Amillenialism. :)

I found out the other day after talking to my Grandma that she and my Grandpa were always amillenial as well. He was a Southern Baptist pastor for over 40 years. I thought that was interesting.

That's cool...and RARE nowadays!
