Miles and lifestyles
Say we've drifted apart
But nothing has changed
Deep down in my heart,
Situations may change
But love has no end,
It's eternal, like God,
The love for a friend.
I'm writing outdoors
And a crisp gentle breeze
Cools the tears in my eyes
As I look at the trees
And remember autumn's past
That I shared with a friend,
Good times I never dreamed
Would come to an end.
I like to think you think of me
The same way I do you,
That little things like autumn trees
Remind you of me too,
That sometimes when you pause to pray
I come into your heart
And you lift me too as good friends do
Though they are miles apart.
Interestingly, this friend I wrote of was the same one found in this poem

My true prayer is, from knowing this one who I loved (and still do), is that God would pour out his blessings on this one. Also, the expereince caused me to pray sincerely, that I would not be a "high maintenance" friend to others, but rather, would be sunshine. Storms in life come regardless. Lord Jesus, help them not come from me.
The Bible warns us not to "latch up" with an angry person. There are reasons. It is wise for friendship to be a discerning choice. But of course, we can always be friendly to each person we meet.
Just thoughts from life. A pearl.
