  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I used to get somewhat stressed about tests. But eventually I realized that there are really a tiny thing in the whole scope of life. For one thing, many tests only form a small portion of a course. Absolutely bomb a test worth 20% of the course and you still have 80% left to do well on. If a person fails a test or even an entire class, it's not the end of the world. It might require slightly adjusting one's plans, perhaps retaking a class or needing an extra year to finish a degree or re-evaluating one's career path. But it isn't something that needs to destroy someone's life. Once I started looking at the big picture, tests became somewhat less stressful.

My problem has been that I don't get stressed enough. lol Well, about classes I cannot stand anyway. I've got the absolute worst profs this quarter. One is completely lazy and doesn't tell anyone when anything is due, when tests are, much less what is on the tests. Ugh, I hate classes/teachers with no direction.

I have a physics midterm tomorrow which should be easy, then a Humanities midterm which could go either way.

Does anyone else stress out majorly over midterms?
Both of mine were open book, open note essay midterms, and I had a week to do them, but I still stressed about them.

What school do you go to? I never heard of midterms being open book. And a week to do them? Wow. :o At my schools (both high school & college) people cram for a week in advance, for most of them anyway. Then pray. Pray desperately. :crossrc:

I go to a junior college... community college, whatever it's called. Much cheaper and easier :D
Plus my teachers are both easy.

yes

i am a chronic stresser. Every time. No matter what they are worth.

And if I get a question wrong, I'll bash myself up about it. (not literally)

I always found take home midterms to be a mixed blessing. Sure, you have unlimited resourses, but the experience I've had is that they just make the questions that much harder. For my Mountain/Canyon flying cours and Aerodynamics and Systems I/II we always had take home tests/midterms. But as I said, they usually end up having tricky questions.

The tests that make me extremely nervous are my practical flight tests. Those can almost make me sick. All I can think of are the things that I should have studied more. The nice thing about them though, at least with me, is that the anxiety of waiting is FAR worse than the actual test. Once I start talking/flying the training kicks in and nothing else enters my mind. But man are those checkrides INTENSE!
