Actually Mallon, I really enjoyed talking with you. I only had a few minutes to post my last message but I would like to explain more about what I said.Mallon said:Thanks for your peace, love and fellowship, theoddamerican. The bible repeatedly says that sin and death entered into the world by one man and one woman. Because of that they were cursed. Because of that curse we also have inherited the curse. We all know the verse "for the wages of sin is death." Also please look at Romans 5:12. Romans says that sin and death entered together. 1corrinthians 15:21 says that death came by man.
Evolution teaches that through billions of years things had to die in order for things to get 'more advanced' (better)
This concept of Evolution and the bible working together is flawed. I believe the bible to be the inspired word of God. There are no contradictions in the Bible. Evolution is continually changing as science changes.
If I were to believe in evolution then, I would have to believe that God set us up to sin. If sin entered into the world before man, (Genesis a figurative story) then that would indicate that human beings are victims.
The Bible teaches that everything was created in 6 days Genesis 1, Exodus 20:8-11
Over 600 times "days" is used in the plural in the Bible in books of history, doctrine, or poetry. Always, without exception, the word refers to literal days in such contexts. Specifically, when days are counted as a cardinal number ("six days"), they are always literal. More specifically, ten times the Bible describes an event as occurring "in X days." Always without exception, the meaning is literal, consecutive days. See, for example Nehemiah 6:15; Matthew 26:61; John 2:19; Acts 20:6; etc.
To deny that the "days" of Gen. 1 are natural days, is to undermine the historical accuracy of Genesis and therefore of the whole Bible. We should let the Bible itself convince us what it means. We should never allow unproved human theories to determine how we view the Bible. To do so is to begin the long road to religious liberalism and ultimate rejection of the authority of Scripture. A person therefore is compelled to make a choice, either to believe the Bible or to believe in evolution. It is impossible really to believe in both, because each fully contradicts the other.
