I am from Michigan On the Lake Michigan side but up a bit.

I'm up in the U.P.

The U.P. is beautiful! I went camping up there when I was little. Had a cabin with an outhouse and a pump for running water The rivers were cold and clear. I have not been to Mackinaw Island yet...but most everyone I know has been there and they keep going there for weekend getaways.

I go to Grand Rapids maybe a few times a year to go to the mall there and to eat at OutBack SteakHouse. Love the Mall at Christmas it is so pretty.
