Let me know when you want to circle round to the point of this thread and not some strange pointless exegenesis.
I will take your whole discussion to mean that you 100% agree with Flynn in this instance though, just to keep it simple.
I don't mind if they have their faith as long as it doesn't involve hijacking airliners and killing nearly 3,000 people.
Oh sorry, am I being too intolerant by saying that?
In God We Trust.
Good thing to getting back to doing as a country.
Wasn't that added waaaay later? Like 70 years ago only?In God We Trust.

The old motto was better. Plus, I wouldn't trust your god if I thought it was real.
E pluribus unum.

So not sure what the point is in that unless it is just to clarify that you do not believe in freedom of religion as outlined in your constitution.
The alternative isn't exactly trustworthy, unless you're trusting in eternal global warming gone extreme.
What are you yammering about now?
Oh wait, it's the "hell threat" again. Never mind. Not impressed.
Well, there are atheist forums you could go to if Christianity isn't your thing.
Who's saying anything about taking away freedom of religion?
You really don't understand the significance of Flynn's words do you?
The only way to achieve "One nation under God, and one religion under God" is to suppress other religions. Since other religions will not willingly comply it will take law and the coercive power of the state acting as the agent for the 'one' religion.
In one short sentence Flynn has allowed the possibility of abdicating the concept of religious freedom along with scrapping the separation of church and state.
We can argue endlessly that both concepts are contrary to the Constitution. The reality is that a public figure, acting as a defacto spokesperson for a former President, has publicly broached both possibilities giving aid and comfort to the angry, anarchic, uninformed mob looking for revolutionary change to feed their frustration.
In the current situation Flynn's words are the equivalent of playing with matches while standing in a puddle of gasoline.

This General Michael Flynn. Is he anyone that anybody here believes is going to somehow change our laws that will outlaw religions other than one? If not, I don't see why anyone here is concerned about what he said at the Reawaken America conference in San Antonio.

A year ago we would never have seriously contemplated the possibility of a mob attack on the the Capitol in an attempt to usurp a Presidential election. It happened.
You still don't get it.
It doesn't matter if Flynn lacks the power to change laws. What matters is that he's opening up possibilities which would have been inconceivable a year ago. In the process he's contributing to the general sense of opportunities for change via lawless actions eroding the boundaries of acceptable behaviour.

I came here to discuss science (and pseudoscience). I have ventured in to related politics (the pandemic), a few other things, and of course, threats to democracy like Mr. Flynn. Religion itself, bores me. If you could just keep it out of politics and science that would be great.
Aren't there any sites on the internet with interesting scientific and political discussion without us pesky Christians bringing up religion from time to time?
It sounds like what you're saying is the same as I was saying in the past about BLM and other activist book authors writing stuff about "white fragility" and about what they call systemic racism and things like that. It gets put out there and built upon and causes problems. But when it's brought up for discussion, I've always gotten remarks like, "Who cares what some unknown author says?"
In this case, I highly doubt anyone is going to pass any laws banning all but one religion, except for maybe a global leader who declares Earth worship to be the one religion. That seems to be what the global elitists are into right now, and are trying to force on everyone else through taxation of anything that doesn't conform to their Earth worship agenda.
