I agree that Metallica was good until the Black Album. They should have quit while they were ahead

I used to be a huge Metallica fan (even had front row seats to their concert in '92), until Load and Re-Load - I did however pick up Garage III - It was funny that before the Black album came out kids in school thought you were a freak for heavy metal, then after Black even the alternative music fans liked Metallica. The songs were everywhere, yikes! (although they hardly played the 'good' stuff on the air) - I still listen to the old stuff, but my favorite band is Tourniquet - they're a really awesome Christian metal band and they are re-releasing their stuff that was out of print.

I like most of metallica's songs, they are awesome musicians.
