CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ya st.anger aint so good but my fave is prolly The black album...i know its sorta cliche to like it but oh well

I'm not really into them, and I don't like their music. I only dig a couple of songs from them, "Fade to Black", and "Nothing Else Matters". That's about it.

I like the old stuff...Kill em All, Ride the Lightning, MoP, the Black album is where I draw the line...
The new album I won't even listen to, IT IS HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think Metallica rocks! They were better back in the day like late 80's- mid 90's... I think they're last really good album was Black.. and Load had a couple of good songs, but now they're getting too mainstream for my tastes. I don't like hearing them on the radio every half hour!
They also make good karaoke material.. Enter Sandman is my main choice for that.

I quit listening to Metallica after the black album...I thought it was a sell-out MTV pop album...
...that being said, I loved Kill 'em All, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, and AJFA...

yeah metallica was cool up until the black album..... that is where my metallica taste ends. everything else after black was like something you would eat at a school cafeteria...... not very tasteful at all.

I love everything they have done, I think they are profound...and "sly" too, getting through to angry young men with "deep" philosophy before they know what's hit them...Hetfield is exorcising his own demons and helping anyone else with theirs, who gives him a serious listen.
St. Anger sounds rough but it's worth getting into...here's just a few lyrics.

I actually could get into any of their albums all the way until St. Anger. The old stuff was definately better and not as mainstream as the more current stuff, but they still had some good songs on Load and ReLoad.

I'm a fan from back in the day. I like all the albums where Cliff played bass. They started choking with newstead, even though hetfield is still a good songwriter.
