I'm a casual Metallica fan. I won't get worked up enough to smash them for Napster or being maintsream, or to tell you that they are the best band ever, or any junk like that. All I have to say is that they made some really awesome songs, my favorites being Sad But True, Until It Sleeps, and Whiskey in the Jar(which is my favorite Cover as well). I can listen to pretty much anything of theirs and enjoy it, even if only a little, which you cannot say about many other bands. They are not by any means my favorite, but they are ONE of my favorite American bands. Otherwise, gimme some foreign metal!

All right Taake, fair enough I haven't listened to much Slipknot, only a couple of songs and they sounded a whole lot like thrash to me! Maybe I'm generalising...

I never claimed to be a metal expert either...nor did I make some huge statements about metal either...
Bah I don't have a problem with you being harsh. Everyone here is waaay too nice. Although this is a christian forum so i ain't suprised...

Whiskey in the Jar is a cover song. I am sure you knew that, but just in case somebody didn't know that. It's and old Irish drinking song. Me thinks the Dubliners did it, but I could be wrong. Thin Lizzy also covered it.
