  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

aww shucks! I just love this genre of music! I've been to several concerts, got over 400 cds, 200 vinyls, and wish I grew up in the 80's! I also do research and write reviews for metal-archives, so I kind of have to know what I am talking about, heh. That list is 90% of what I listen to, I think I left only a dozen or so bands off that list.

Oh in case anyone wonders, MetalBlade was chossen because at the time I was signing up for CF I was ordering music of Metal Blade, a great record company for metal, despite a few bands that are very questionable, metal wise...

Hi sorry to annoy everyone once again. Everyone's musical taste is excellent. But when it comes to kidnapping, restraining rapists onto an embalming table and performing the most grotesque surgical torture on them while they are fully conscious, I believe Gore/Death/Sewage/Horror/SplatterGrind depicts such an atmosphere the best. It appears that not much people in here know of Goregrind and if so, they don't have the heart start such a project. Does anyone know of anyone else in the world who would like to expose the gayness of rapists and degrade their existence by ****ing on their ways after they have been shredded into a mangled mess? My favorite bands are: Neuro Visceral Exhumation, Last Days of Humanity, Meatknife, Rompeprop, Gore and Dahmer. ( I know I've mentioned my favorite bands previously I am just going to do this regularly so hopefully someone who listens to this too may stumble upon it, whether it's a pre-existing member or a new member )

Hey man, good job on the list, quite good for getting a noob into metal... what are you're real favorite bands besides those mainstream ones you already mentioned? I'm really not into powermetal but I think I've heard almost all of what was on the noob-list. What would you recommend to someone who liked the more oldschool non-gay powermetal such as the famous Brokas Helm and Harbringer?

noob-list? haha. ok know that I have laughed for a good five minutes I can continue with this post.

You my friend should not proclaim to like heavy metal but call bands such as Judas Priest, Madien, Accept, etc. noobish. I am not that much into black metal, as you probably are. Guess I am not kvlt enough. In fact, recommend me some of your "underground" bands please.

I am sorry but if you said that list was noobish to all the metal heads I know, well I'll leave it at that. I know one metal head, the singer from Black Trinity, and underground black metal band, who would call you dumb (but probably would use harsher words).

Yeah of course!! Why the hell would I call the bands that made heavy metal literately possible noobish? By "a good noob list" I mean (naturally) a list of bands that everyone into metal knows but that are very good to get people into metal, like the first line of my post says. Like when people get into literature, they get a list of good and famous books before reading into something lesser known and maybe harder to digest. What's your name on MetalArchives? MetalBlade as well? (When is it getting online again :(?). I'd like to read some of your reviews. I wrote for MetalReviews for a while myself, I'm on their forums still quite a lot...

Well, yes, I'm into BM. but not into the kind that you would suspect (at least I guess). I don't like most blastbeats and the "kvlt" idea might be cool for a good laugh, but nothing more. I know there are too many "Ow look at me, I like Mayhem and Immortal and I started a band and now I'm all grim and nekro with my foolish corpsepaint and spikes and I sound like all the (overrated) second wave acts"-type BM bands, but I also know that there are a lot of hidden gems in about every genre, amidst the mass of garbage. I try to pick them out judging on name, album cover and label (if they are on one). I do admit that I prefer the records I buy to be strickly limited and on LP available only. I guess it makes me feel more special when I have them and I know that there are only 350 other people out there owning it, and no one can easily copy it. Anyways, I'm more of the Ulver, Burzum and Nargaroth school than of the Darkthrone and Mayhem kind. I like my BM to be atmospheric, nature oriented, beautiful, sad and raw at the same time. That's why I'm also a fan of a lot of Neoclassical and Post-Rock. I prefer an absense of any image, however that is not always possible. Click my soundsample if you want to hear something that might appeal to you. The guy behind it is also in Eluveitie, a far better known folkish pagan metal band. Ow by the way, I take it you kinda exploded over the misinterpretation of my post, so no hard feeling from here...

My humble apologies Taake! By noob list I thought you meant that those bands were noobs, meaning they were bad. I understand what you mean know. I would like to suggest more undeground metal, and rare bands, but that poses problems. First the music is hard to find. And if you do find it, you might pay a pretty penny. For example there is this band called Fortress! Awesome metal band. Well my bro found a bootleg of their only album and that cost him like 30 bucks! Then he bought a Viking album for like 20 (vinyl), so I usually suggest the bands you can easily purchase offline or in your local record stores.

Anyway, I talked to Morrigan (one of the owners of MA) a couple of days ago, and she doesn't know when it is coming back on, just that it shouldn't have taking this long. My username is PowerMetalGuardian. I have donated 200+ reviews for MA.
