I have only been to this Bible Study a few times. It's been a great fit, most of the girls are in the medical field of some sort. I noticed this guy the first time but as it was a discussion I didn't have much time to talk to him. I did not honestly have any intention dating anyone at church or church group activities. We did a Christmas movie get together tonight and he was there. He asked me for my name at the beginning (as it has been a while since we met as a group at least two weeks). It felt completely natural. He happened to sit next to me as he could sit on the floor or other couch but he chose to sit next to me.

I was thinking of emailing him since I don't have his number just asking him for coffee. Any better ways to get to know him or it not be awkward? Christmas break for his grad school is coming up soon. We probably won't have group Bible study until school resumes up in late January.

Worst comes to worst he will just say no or not answer it. I'm fine with that. This is the first guy since my ex I've felt anything more to then just friends. This would be the first guy I would be interested in through the church at any point.

Any tips at all for church or bible study group dating? The break up with my ex has turned me to church and Bible study so its been a while. Break up occurred in July, but he left me while I was sick so it has done some damage to me. This is the first guy who hasn't brought back the bad memories :)

Asking another person out for coffee is nice(Never happen to me). Sounds like a good way to get to know eachother and see if your still interested in him or if he's interested in you. btw its low-budget and simple. Though not all guys are like me, but I like low-budget and simple non-serious dates.
Just to be safe, make sure its in a public place and somewhere the both of you aren't tempted. Just saying. It's always good to be safe than sorry. God bless you and your families. :)

You need to wait. Just relax...............and wait for him to move it forward. A guy is wired to do this even though it may feel uncomfortable for him to do so. In time , he will take the friendship to the next notch...but allow him his maleness to act in this regard. I wouldn't ask him out for coffee...not until your friendship is established well and do it way down the line .

Keep on talking to him in the Group meetings...smile at him...look very presentable in your appearance, and he will take greater notice of you than he already is.

Also, I would also make sure you are well over your divorce and have settled the many emotional issues well. You may or may not be ready for dating right now .

If you don't ask it will never happen, unless you get super lucky. Sure the guy could say no, but he could also say yes! This applies to sooo many things in life. You want to maximize the chances that you will date someone you like? Then ask guys out who you like... You should really really consider this.

If you don't go for the direct approach. You could organize a game night, party, or happy hour drinks ect and invite everyone from the bible study. One of these probably isn't enough since you will probably have to just pick a date/time and hope he isn't busy so organize several of them. That should give you enough opportunities to get some organic get to know you time- but it is slow, involves lots of effort. All for a guy who may not even be interested... there is a good chance you will *still* have to ask if you want to know if there is any interest on his part. I really encourage you to consider just asking.
