Bless your heart...It should be also stated that being Messianic does not mean you are not Christian either.
I have to agree with jeff here:
One thing - this forum has a number of people who consider themselves Messianic (though not necessarily Messianic Jews). If a situation ever arose where I was asked about the sincerity of the faith in Yeshua of the people that post here I would glady state that there is a solid, firm and sincere love for Yeshua in this place shared by all, regardless of what others might think. I'm not claiming to know their hearts, but if activity and zeal for the word and the holy life is anything to go by- this forum has a lot of Jesus people.
When all believers stop trying to gain an identity for themselves, and just live for Yeshua, we will all be better off in the MJ movement......I've been MJ for 12 years and it seems to me when I first started to study the Hebrew Roots of the Church, it was to learn about the original identity of Yeshua (kind of lost thru the years) not to build a new Identity for MEI actually see a lot of hurt people seeking an identity these days, which might just tie in to the group you are describing.

Doesnt the word say we are to die to ourselves and become alive in Yeshua?

Welcome, Orthodoxy! It's great to see you participating!
Messianic Jews definitely follow Jesus as the Messiah. You may find some Messianics who say they are not Christian, but only in the sense we Jesus and not Christianity. Most here on this forum, however, I believe do consider themselves Christian.
With me, it depends on who I'm talking to. On the surface and for casual conversation, I will call myself a Christian. But if I were to have a deep conversation and wanted to clear up my beliefs, I do not really consider myself a "Christian" because I feel it is a man made religion and not what Jesus intended. Being referred to as a Christian, however, doesn't offend me at all because I am truly a follower of Christ.
Thanks for the welcome. I disagree with you about Christ's intent. I do not intend to debate it here.
Forgive me...
I don't want to debate it either.I'm just giving you my perspective.
Check out "Messianic Way". There's a link to it in the folders above this forum. You may like it there.I meant "out of respect for your area", I would not debate it. I would, in a place like General Theology.
Forgive me...
Even in the very earliest of Christianity a Christian was a Christian upon his declaration of faith in Christ Jesus being the Son of God.

Yeah... The Way was and still is a sect of Judaism.
Where's the head office? Who's the head of that sect? Any info?
In Jerusalem with James, the elder...and they continued until attacked from both with Judaism and without Romans... around 132 AD... and which point, fragments [remnants] have been noted in inquisition documents.
Wow, really? Where do you get those infos?St. James, the brother of Our Lord, was cast from the top of the Temple and stoned in 69AD. The community still exists today.
Forgive me...

Was John boiled in oil?
Act 11:26
And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.
