  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Dear JH:

Thank you for not coming back at me in a chiding fashion. As I do not know you, I didn't know how you would react to my strong words from before. Respect grows into love and I hope and pray that we will have a strong bond in time.

Anyway... to answer you question through my eyes. I do not know how this affects the Messianic movement.

My own personal opinion dwells way too much on the manifestations that leave me concerned. But I also have to add this adjunct thought: I do not attend any regular organization or gathering. My disenchantment with the organization of the church has led me to a much deeper metaphysical understanding of the Organism of the Church. Therefore, I guess my issues run much deeper than emotional satisfaction or temporary fruit.

Make no mistake. I do not condemn one who grows through this situation. I simply find very little that makes me want to have a structure placed upon it as a partial foundation.

Have a pleasant day.

I've been thinking for some time now that I should sue Brownsville for what they have done to my family. My mom and my sisters went there many times for months and attended the conferences.I went to the conference they had in Houston. We probably have 3 copies of every service they had and my family watches them over and over.My mom uses this slain in spirit thang like weilding a sword and people fall out everywhere she goes.I felt it one time and got very dizzy but I'm completely against it.I have such an anger about this subject that I shouldn't have even wrote about it.Dealing with hate is very hard for me.I don't like to hate but I hate what that revival has done to my family.

Oh you drunkerds of Ephraim reeling from the new wine.Have you ever looked up the article from 1901 when this thing began?

My husband and I determined 17 years ago it was Avodah Zarah. Nothing has happened since then to change our minds. That is our opinion and our belief. However, for me this in not the context for further discussion on that topic. It has always only brought acrimony in any discussion in the past.

I agree, Henny.

If you have not noticed, we are having a bit of a problem just now in MJ. The only way for us to solve this problem is for us as a community to stop encouraging the instigators. People are being distracted and hurt, although I realise that is not anyone's intent.

I respectfully request that we refrain from further posting to this thread and reconsider our intentions.

I am torn on the issue, but I will also have to conclude Avodah Zarah.

Displays of wonder do not necessarily indicate G-d is at work.

shalom,

I spent most of the day apoligizing for what I said yesterday.

The problem with these type of conversations is that it is hurtfull because people are usually have a great deal of passion towards either side.

I used to display all the gifts of the spirit but now I dont.

These issues are the most important issues to me but the most hurtfull to discuss.

I'm starting to believe that they shouldn't be discussed,Maybe they should have their own forums for strictly adults that want a very heated debate.
:)

I apoligize for my earlier post on this subject.

P.S. - Simchat maybe you should make up your mind. :D

I'll apoligize to you for this comment tomorrow so we will have something to talk about.

Flavius,

I'm very sorry you were hurt blessed brother. I understand you and your feelings. I do encourage you to ask revelation from the L-rd. I personally know people who were hurt from these movements, but also know people whose lives were changed and are serving the L-rd because of it today. I encourage you to see what bones you can spit out, and find the few bones you can chew.

Love in Yeshua,
Sean

BTW- if it is people you are searching about, you will always find problems.
If it is doctrine- each one of us has holes in our doctrine...we need to worrry when it is anti-biblical (extra-biblical is ok if it isn't anti-biblical)...for instance Yeshua walked on the water...there is no biblical precedent for this before Him...so it is extra-biblical, but not anti-biblical.

if it is fruit - its a result of the people's lives and choices

the whole extra-biblical, anti-biblical theme how I see it can be related to how I see the Talmud and the rabi's , or even christian or messianic books I read

The whole Talmud, writings of the rabis, and writings of the messianics in my opinion ( this is not for debate just my opinion to give an example) is extra-biblical.

There are things that I love reading in the Talmud and rabis and think it lines up with the word of God and therefore is extra-biblical, but not antibiblical...but there are things that I disagree with the Talmud and rabis that I believe are antibiblical as well

For instance... I have great respect for the writings of Nachman and Rav Cook and even Baal Shem Tov although I don't agree with everything

there are things I totally disagree with people like Rambam that I believe are both extra and anti-biblical ( mainly the teaching that God doesn't have an image)

anyways the same with manifestations needs to be judged if it is antibiblical and not on the precedent that it is extra-biblical
