  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Dear All Beloved Sisters & Brothers:

I come to you tonight to ask a question in what will be an installment of an innumerable amount. "And everyone said, yay..."

Anyway... I have been digesting a number of things as of late and that has rendered my posting few, far between, and mostly unimportant and surfacy. Therefore, I would like to be able to get a little of the 'true' milk before I ask for a helping of meat.

I would really like to ask of you the following:

What is the role of the Messiah?
How was it for the Jews before the time of Christ?
How was it for the Jews during the time of Christ?
How is it now for Jews?

I have read in a few posts that there is a potential of two Messiahs. Some have said that Yeshua embodied them both, some say one, some say none.

What are the roles of the two Messiahs?
Why are there two?

Essentially, I am wanting to get an understanding of Messiah in all ways, shapes, and forms. In this thread, I do not want to know how Yeshua fulfilled or did not fulfill the thoughts above. That will be my following post after I am able to gain a true understanding from a Jewish point of view.

I have completely laid to the side my 'christianese' understanding of Messiah. I would truly appreciate an eye opening experience by those in this forum.

Please let the information be abundant and filled with all you have.

I am presently working in reverse from the posts on the last view and I'm up to page 58, but I haven't run into this topic yet. If it is somewhere already, then by all means, point me in that direction. But also keep in mind, I would love to hear this information from you freshly. I'm sure there's a greater understanding and depth then the last time it came up.

Thank you all very much,

Nathan

can you believe that now as I look back on that statement, I wrote the wrong phrase. I must have been more tired than I thought. It was supposed to be...

And there was much rejoicing... yaayyyyyyyyy.

But anyway... I look forward to seeing what others write as well.

B4: Thank you for the complement regarding the post. Hopefully we will both learn and grow from our on-line family.

wow, we're forming a newbie club! So glad I'm not alone here.
I'm so glad for the wonderful people here who teach and guide us, aren't you?
I'm as green as either of you could ever be but I'm going to try to give you my seedling of knowlege, as long as you understand that I'm learning too and not by far wise in this. Others may disagree and thereby instruct me so .....here we go.

First our L-rd came to reconcile man with G-d, for the remission of sin, to teach us the heart of the law, lead us from the captivity of sin, to be the Lamb of sacrifice that paid the debt of sin for us all.

The second Massiah is the same as the first but He comes in a different role and for a different purpose. He's the Lion of Revalations.......He places His foot on Mt Zion exercising His Kingship and authority bringing all under submission.

Well there ya go....I gave it a shot.

Thank you very much Blessed2 for your thoughts.

I will wait to see what else can be gleaned from my original questions before responding, because I have so many things I would like to write that I am trying to restrain myself in a concise and fruitful manner.
