message notifications

my message notifications say i have one profile visiter message that is not read and it will not go away on top of that i cannot find the message on my profile

I have the same problem. On my user CP I can see the missing message as this:

I was just messaging you to see if you were... 03:20 AM Syfonic

but cannot open it.

I have refreshed my pGES TO NO AVAIL.

I have the same problem as well. I really don't think this is a trivial problem any more.

These have all been removed.

Did you determine the underlying cause?

Yes. In this instance there was a member who had left many visitor messages and subsequently ebanned. Of course, when a member is ebanned their messages are all removed. I changed the ebanned member's status to normal banned, opened each of the other members' profile page, and removed the visitor message.
