WEDNESDAY’s WORD
AN OASIS FOR YOU!

MERGING TRAFFIC
The other morning I was running a little late on my way to work. I came to the edge of my neighborhood, turned on my signal, and waiting for my chance to merge in with traffic. Of course when I’m running late there seems to be an unusually high concentration of traffic…is that me? So, I took a deep breath and waited. I listened for the Lord and thought about the major upcoming changes in my life as I waited and drew a couple parallels.

The timing has to be right before moving out – clear across both lanes. If I were to pull out before the "all clear", I could cause some major damage. Waiting is good, but if I don’t pay attention while I wait, I could miss my opportunity. Missed opportunity means delay. There is a moment of decision before pulling out – can I make it? Should I go? If I go, but move too slowly, I could be the cause of rippling disaster for those behind me. These are some of the thoughts I deal with, but His perfect love and peace settle these fears as I trust Him to be in control...directing traffic.

Are you on the edge of a new beginning? Are you starring into lines of traffic wondering when the Lord’s timing is for you to pull out? I seem to be spending an awful amount of time just waiting right now. I need to be reminded that waiting is good. Don’t grow weary in waiting, but diligently stay alert so you can move quickly when the time comes! Pray – Lord give me an opening, help me to stay alert, and help me to abide in Your perfect peace while I wait !! (please pray that for me!)

Waiting on God is good. Maybe God is preparing a few others who will come along side you, those individuals He wants to place before and behind you. They will be a great blessing to you; hence, what appears to be a delay now, is actually "set-up" time. When it’s time to go, however, it’s TIME to go!! If I fear I’m moving to slow, I can find an empty middle turning lane – a transition to use while I build up speed. Those transitions can be tricky, there may be some extra gravel on the road there, caution is wise – fear is foolish. Once I’m out, however, I can adjust my speed to move with the flow of traffic and ride like the wind. God is able to adjust the flow of the traffic when He knows we are ready and things are right.

We each have our own car, our own part if you will, but there’s only one road; therefore please drive considerately! Be kind, gentle, and helpful to those working around you. As we know, all too well in fact, if one driver has an accident (even a minor accident!) we all are delayed. We’re in this together. So don’t forget, once you are on the road and driving comfortably, watch for those needing to merge in. Help those inexperienced Christians entering a new phase of life, a new ministry. They need your blessing.

"When it's time to go, however, it's TIME to go>" Thanks for that nugget of wisdom. I had a friend I spent a very long time trying to relate this truth to.

Christians, at least "professing" Christians have never and will never learn this. ALL they want to do is sit and talk and point fingers and whine and cry and complain.

And in the end they sit on thier butt and do nothing, and suddenly it is too late. But that's OK with them. They enjoy thier misguided self imposed misery, and disobedience to God.
