Sometimes we get spiders in our house. I have a spider rescue kit that consists of an old spoon and a Baggie. I scoop up the spider, put it into the Baggie, carry it to the door and set it free. I've never seen a poisonous one like a Black Widow in here, but if I did, I'd probably use a fly swatter and there would be no rescue. Just a minor clean-up.
With that said, my hubby and I have computer desks together next to each other. Hubby was talking to his Mom about something on his pricey IPhone and set it down on his desk after the call ... right smack on top of a great big brown wood spider. He didn't notice the spider, but I did, and before I could say anything, his Mom called back and he picked up the phone and freaked.
There was the spider, injured and squirming, and he dropped the phone and had a fit. He hates spiders. I picked up the phone, used a paper towel to put the spider out of its misery, cleaned his phone off with lens cleaner, handed it back to him, and said, "Your Mom wants to talk to you."
He was very grateful, then he said, "Doesn't anything bother you, Em?"
I said, "Wait till a snake gets in here." I nodded toward my shotgun hanging on the wall.
He just looked at me funny and called his Mom back.
