I don't find those words in the KJV on Biblegateway search engine either...probably b/c KJV was updated. I remember all those words being in my KJV Bible too. I don't have it with me...traveling right now...your memory is good! Probably excellent. The world is changing. I now use NIV 1984 and it has now been superceded by NIV 2011...not a good version at all in my opinion.

The changes I’m talking about aren’t due to updates by publishers. I have old KJV Bibles - some were handed down through generations of my family. And all of them have somehow been changed, while they were on my bookshelf.

My guess is that this is part of the prophecy in 2 Thessalonians 2, which says that at some point the Enemy will have “all power” with which to perform ‘lying signs and wonders’.

We used to refer to that chapter when we were discussing the End Times and the rise of the Antichrist. We talked about “the Restrainer”. But now, the Restrainer is not mentioned in that chapter at all. The interlinear Bible still has the word “restrain” - but it’s gone from my old copies of the KJV.

Equally disturbing to me is the response I got from my pastor when I pointed out to him that the word “Hallelujah” is not in the KJV - and according to the narrative today, it NEVER HAS BEEN.

He said something like “Well, we must’ve gotten it wrong.”

But - we didn’t ‘get it wrong’. We used the KJV exclusively for generations, and used certain words and phrases from it in conversations, in worship, in teaching, in preaching.... and now, those words are gone.

My guess is the Restrainer is gone, and we are beginning to see Evil Miracles (Lying Signs and wonders). If this is what’s happening, then the Antichrist will soon be in power.

Matt 9:17 the 1611 KVJ uses bottles
17 Neither doe men put new wine into old bottels: else the bottels breake, and the wine runneth out, and the bottels perish: but they put new wine into new bottels, and both are preserued.

It looks like that in 1881, there was a major language update to the KJV.

This is where I first saw the change of bottles to wineskins.

17 Neither do men put new wine into old wineskins: else the skins burst, and the wine is spilled, and the skins perish: but they put new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved.

So my guess is that most of us who grew up memorizing verses from the KJV were using this 1881 edition. For example, I grew up and had to memorize the Lutheran Missouri Synod Luther's Small Catechism that was published in 1943. I do remember the wineskins verse, so I'm guessing that by the 20th century this edition was the standard one used in English speaking countries.

I don’t think you understand what I’ve been saying. I grew up using ONLY the KJV Bible. I still have copies of the KJV that have seen a LOT of use.

And nowhere in these Bibles, that have been on my bookshelf for decades, are the words “Hallelujah”, ‘Wineskins”, or Demon”.

Something very, very strange has happened. I’m so freaked out by this, I had my brain checked to see if I was malfunctioning.

These are not the only changes in the KJV. There are many.

So how do you now feel - knowing that you have no physical brain malfunction, but a lot of anxiety?
Did they recommend treatment for it?

No, they made no such recommendation.

I was talking with a Christian therapist about these things, but he no longer responds when I try to make an appointment with him. Not sure why.

I’m feeling less anxious as time goes by, and have settled into a ‘wait-and-see’ attitude.

Whatever is happening, God knows all about it.

I have some thoughts about what is causing the Changes, if anyone here wants to hear them.

Summed up, boiled down, and put into words, my inner stance nowadays is: Trust the Lord, and keep in mind that everything in the Creation is subject to being changed.

EVERYTHING - including my old KJV Bibles that have been handed down for generations in my family.
