CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Songs are a great way to memorize scripture. If you do a search on scripture songs, you will find some. Here is one I found. http://www.scripturesongs.com/

Aside from flash cards, what are some other good ways to memorize scriptures?
I memorize them not even trying to by meditating on it. When something speaks to my heart, I read it again and again before I ever close my Bible. Sometimes I write it down. I also pray the scripture since most any scripture can be turned into a prayer.
Oh, one more thing, I type it out and post it on my kitchen cupboard. Some people may think it is poor taste in interior decorating, but I'm decorating my interior, that is my spirit man. I could care less if our house is on the market and there is a showing. I'd rather have the Word dwelling richly in my heart.

Sadly, I have tried to memorize very few scriptures, but it surprizes me how many scriptures I actually do know, just from being familiarized with them through Bible reading and listening to others' teaching.
I think that it would surprize all of us just how many scriptures we know, though we haven't attempted to memorize them.

I like to write songs and include verses in some of them. That helps me memorize them easily.
