Memorizing Scripture

How about we start memorizing Bible verses? We can do one a week. It may not seem like a lot, but we don't wanna get over ourselves. Let's start off. Can someone else suggest one?

From memory (I only had to say it out loud, so the the punctuation may not be right...and it may be "with faith" instead of "by faith", but I'm going with "by"):

Galatians 2:20: I have been crucified with Christ, it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me; and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave His life for me.

I think that's a good one to start off with I don't think everyone here is really in need of this, but hey, it's a good way to force us to!

Wouldn't work unless I rehearsed the verses over and over everyday. I tend to forget things pretty badly over time, took 2 yrs of spanish in highschool..I remember about 5 words.

I find this verse always helps me if I am troubled by sin or sorrow.​

Here's another one of my favourite verses, from Compline. It's from 1 Peter, and reminds me that we always need to be cautious about occasions which could be sinful.

"[Fratres:] Sobrii estote et vigilate, quia adversarius vester diabolus tamquam leo rugiens circuit, quaerens quem devoret. Cui resistite, fortes in fide. [Tu autem, Domine, miserere nobis.]"

"[Brethren:] Be sober and vigilant, because your adversary the devil, like a roaring lion, circles, seeking whom he may devour. Whom resist ye, strong in faith. [But thou, O Lord, have mercy upon us.]"

I just tell my fundamentalist friends, "Memorizing scripture is too difficult - At my church all we have to do is memorize the sacraments and the Angelus."

I actually don't know if it comes in different versions, per se. The one that I have (which looks like the pic on the website) has NIV, KJV, NASB, and something else. They're not Catholic-approved translations, but I have yet to come across any verses that are classically disputed.
